For the last six months any orders coming from the US on the Biblio website have a 20 euro shipping rate when it should be 50. I have it at 20 because that platform's really rudimentary and obsolete shipping matrix does not allow setting rates just for the US. Anywhere else in the world it's 20 euros. The same stupid shipping matrix has also not taken UK out of the EU but that is a separate beef. So this is the message I send US clients on Biblio and I hope some day things will "get back to normal":
Sadly there are a number of issues for shipping to the US at this time. First and foremost is Trump's tariffs, not just the tariff itself but the ripple effects. Second is the Biblio website. This duplicity between MAGA and corporate interests is the source of the world's problems. Biblio charges a commission on the shipping fees and not just on the price on the book. They also have a payment processing fee with the same percentage structure (price of book AND shipping) In today's world that results in their fees surpassing the value of the book (for books in the under $15 category). Their antiquated shipping matrix does not allow for setting rates just for the USA. This book can be shipped anywhere in the world for 20 euros but for the US it is 50. You will see I have this same book on ABE with 55 euro shipping rate because that website allows setting rates by country. Get rid of Trump and hold corporations accountable (which means that dirty word "regulation" and stop relying on litigation) then your shipping rates will be halved!!!
