"The best meal I have had for a very long time".

The travelling knitters from Stitchtopia Craft Holidays including vegan, vegetarians and people with different kind of allergies said, that dining in Mauds home Maud Wang Hansen , eating her organic locally produced food was the best meal, they had on the entire trip to Faroe Islands.

It was cosy, Maud could answer all questions about the food as well as about the preparation and it felt like home away from home.

Our last day in the Faroe Islands with was a full day workshop with The group of 12 knitters have been making traditional Faroese slippers and a mini shawl. Katrina provided the lovely yarn from in natural colours of cream, greys and brown. It has been a wonderful week, we have learnt so much about the culture and history of Faroe and enjoyed the company of a wonderful group of knitters. Exploring the narrow cobbled streets of with and and a visit to to see the ancient weaving looms in action, admire the beautiful hand embroidered garments and buy warm socks made with local yarn. Then on to taking in the beautiful scenery, ancient buildings and fabulous artwork. In the afternoon we had our first workshop with Katrina, working on a pair of Faroese slippers based on a traditional design.
