Remembering Tony, last year a couple of months after visiting us her at foxpool . Tony unfortunately passed away i got a text from his good mate and fishing buddy Lee.
What a didn't mention when I posted my condolences on the page was that Tony sadly took his own life .
Tony lived out here in france after retiring after running a successful company in the uk. He owned a nice house and land his wife had horses and seemed he had the perfect life he was a confident charecter and he Lee and ian were full of banter (aswell as vodka )whilst here April last year.
Ive thought long and hard before I decided to post this but I think Tony wouldn't mind and if it's helps get the message out there thats its good to talk and open up it its worth it.
"MENTAL HEALTH AND DEPRESSION" can and does impact all our lives but as men we put a brave face on it and try too crack on With our lives. It's a illness just like cancer or heart problems but there's no signs to people close to you, a lot of the time that somethings a miss.
Its good now that sports stars a high profile celebs are coming out and raising awareness on a topic that for so many years was brushed under the carpet i watched a interview recently with Mark crossley former Notts forest keeper open up on his struggles, it can happen to the strongest of us look at whet Tyson fury went through after winning the world tilte coming close to ending his own life .
So The massage I want to get across with this is if your struggling with life let those closest to you know . chat too your mates or seek professional help as your suffering and people want to help .
Unfortunately Tony didn't and no one had a clue ,infact Lee his long time freind was with him a few hours before talking about there next fishing trip and ordering gear for it. But there was no sign of his suffering .I know he and Ian were devastated by the loss of there good freind as his wife and family were.
Sorry it a bit of doom and gloom post but I wanted to remember Tony who had a cracking week with us catching plenty and breaking his pb common that Ian had the previos visit. Thoughts go out to Tony's wife and Lee and ian as the anniversary of his passing approaches
"RIP TONY"
