Wrapping up 2025 (a bit late) and welcoming 2026 🎉

Dear friends, partners, and supporters,
We’re posting this slightly later than planned but that’s only because the end of 2025 was truly intense. Between closing the year and rushing to finish a few last “gifts for Santa Claus” 🎅 time flew by.
Looking back, 2025 was a year of solid ex*****on and tangible results for Puulab. Here’s a snapshot of what we accomplished together:

The 27th Special Fair in Rovaniemi was held on 4.-5.10.2025. To say that it is an important event for us is to say nothing! It is a place to find new customers, to exchange with other manufacturers and to check the latest trends in souvenirs (yes, there are such!). A huge gratitude to the Messumimmit (Fair Masters) for such opportunity!

For many, summer is the season of rest. For us at PuuLab, it’s quite the opposite.

Summer in Finland means visitors from all over the world enjoying its lakes, forests, and, of course, the sauna. While some are busy finding the perfect temperature for a steam, we’ve been making sure our plywood souvenirs are ready to be discovered.

Because unlike a sauna, our souvenirs stay cool under any heat. 🔥🪵

✨ Lessons We Learned at Our First Market ✨

Looking back at our very first handicraft market, we can’t help but laugh at some of the things we got wrong. But hey, that’s how we learned! Here are a few things we wish we knew back then:

1️⃣ Don’t Overwhelm with Product!
We thought the more we had, the better. We worked day and night to make as many puzzles and Christmas ornaments as possible. The result? A booth that was packed with stuff! People even asked us if it was mass-produced. Lesson learned: Less really is more when it comes to showcasing your work.

2️⃣ Display Your Products Thoughtfully!
Our stand was super colorful, which was great, but it made it hard for people to focus. They didn’t know where to look or what to choose. Now, we know it’s better to feature just a few pieces at a time. Less chaos, more attention to detail!

3️⃣ Expect the Unexpected!
Here’s a big one: sales can be totally unpredictable. We’ve had amazing days at markets that weren’t even focused on crafts, and then other times, in prime locations, we didn’t make a single sale. You never know how it’ll go, so just enjoy the experience!

On 5.10 - 6.10, we embarked on a totally new adventure — a B2B market in the magical Rovaniemi! 🌲✨

Though we’ve participated in several B2C markets before, this was our first time navigating the B2B atmosphere, and we weren’t sure what to expect. However, the experience left us inspired and energized!

Here are our top takeaways:

🎨 Quality & Creativity: If your product is unique and eye-catching, you’re already on the right path.
🔍 Know Your Product: Not just how it’s made, but how it can be adapted to fit your customer’s specific needs.
🤝 Understand Your Customer: Experience helps — working with souvenir shops has given us insight into what they truly need.
💡 Communication is Key: Whether in B2B or B2C, building connections leads to new ideas and growth.

This was an incredible learning experience, and we’re excited to keep moving forward!

We’re entering a new phase in our journey: shifting our focus entirely to B2B partnerships. Over the past years, we’ve been collaborating with souvenir shops across Finland, curating a collection that celebrates Finnish culture. Additionally, we’ve worked closely with companies to create custom souvenirs—whether for the holiday season or exclusive merchandise.

As a small business, we had to make a choice between continuing direct-to-customer sales or prioritizing B2B. We’ve chosen the latter as it aligns better with our long-term goals.

That said, we’ll still be participating in various markets where you can experience our collection in person. And of course, some of our goodies can be bought in souvenirs shops!
