This is where everything starts. With nothing.

But this time I wasn't starting blind. I had already tested these colours on a small canvas - the combination, the movement, how they sit together. By the time I faced the large scale canvas, I already knew.

That's the thing about scale. When you trust the idea, a big canvas feels like freedom.

Painted during the one of the most turbulent chapters of my life.

We were trying to buy a home here in Mallorca. Found one we loved. Got excited. It fell through.

That kind of disappointment hits differently when you realize it wasn't just about a house but about belonging somewhere, building something yours.

I painted Metamorphosis through all of that. The highs when we thought it was happening, the lows when it didn't. You can see it if you look - two panels that don't quite match but still belong together.

Turns out buying property in Mallorca is a long game.

What can you do immediately to slow your mind down?

1. Observe your environment and give it all your attention. It's fine if you can focus just for a few seconds or minutes at the start. It will get better with time.

2. Try to be conscious of frequency you reach out for your phone. Instead of filling the silence or a break with scrolling, replace it with a moment of mindfulness or simply return to step 1 😊

Stopping by my own painting on the way to the kitchen. Again.

There's something about a calm interior that makes you slow down without even trying. This one — green for new beginnings,light orange for creativity — just does something to the room.
