I decided to fish a spot that had responded well to swimbaits at the end of February. With the pre-spawn period underway, I figured the session looked promising. However, with the warm days, a filamentous algae had developed on the spot, meaning almost no swimbaits were working. So, I decided to take out the Polaris 147, weightless, which is the most suitable lure for this situation. I cast along the edge, a bass followed but didn’t strike. I cast again, it followed timidly, and that’s when the magic happened. This lure remained static and rose slowly, a characteristic that fish have almost never seen. I paused, and the wary fish became foolish the moment the lure started to rise. An impressive surface suction, and it was hooked—more than confirmed! ☑️ 🇺🇸
Je me decide à aller pecher un spot qui avait bien reagis au swimbait fin fevrier, le pre-spawn etant commencer je me dis que la session s’annonce prometeuse. avec les journees chaude, une algue filamenteuse s’est developpé sur le spot.. quasiment aucun swimbait ne passé. Je decide donc de sortir le polaris 147, sans plomb, qui est le leurre le plus adapté pour cette configuration. un lancer sur la bordure, un bass suit mais n’attaque pas.. je relance, il re suit timidement, et c’est la que la magie opere, ce leurre qui reste statique et remonte doucement, un parametre que les poissons n’ont quasiment jamais vu.. je fais donc une pause, et le poisson mefiant est devenu stupide a l’instant ou le leurre s’est mis a remonter, une aspiration en surface impressionante, c’est coffré et plus que validé ! 🇫🇷
