☑️ 4 things that we managed to save on when renovating our previous home:
💰Wardrobe interior: Yes, most of people already know about IKEA PAX wardrobe system but for those who are not convinced about the quality and spend 💸💸💸 on custom made wardrobes, we’d suggest splurging on the doors only. It creates a more expensive look that is unique for ::your:: home (we matched the mouldings on the doors to the wall mouldings). As for the interior, IKEA was very convenient since you could pick from so many different modules and put everything together according to your needs!
💰Wall moulding: We still get a lot of Q’s about these. For some reason people assume they’ve got to be special mouldings meant for the walls. Yes, they do exist but they are X times more expensive. You could easily save by buying normal wooden strips of your choice from the chain stores and then painting them.
💰Cornice moulding: The comparison photo says it all! Speciality store will have a wider choice but also X times a higher price tag.
💰A transition strip: Mentioned it a few posts back but still many people assumed it’s a special strip for that purpose. In fact it’s just a brass strip with no purpose that can be found in regular store like Bauhaus etc. They come in different sizes, finishes etc. and don’t cost a fortune.
