🔥 Authentic Dominican Mamajuana at Home 🇩🇴

Most of the roots and herbs used for Mamajuana grow only in the Dominican Republic, so first you’ll need to bring back a proper Mamajuana mix 🌿
🍹 How to make a really good Mamajuana:
First, here’s an important trick that many people don’t know 👀
To make the flavor smoother and richer, it’s recommended to boil the roots for 1–2 minutes in a pot before using them.
This helps remove excess bitterness and gives the Mamajuana a much cleaner, softer taste 🔥
After that, place the roots into a glass bottle or jar, filling about 60–70% of the container.
Next comes the first soak — this step is only for preparing the roots. Pour in inexpensive alcohol such as wine, rum, vodka, or brandy. If you use strong alcohol, let it sit for 3–5 days. If you use wine, leave it for around 15 days in a dark place 🍷
After soaking, pour the liquid out and do NOT drink it 🚫
It absorbs the bitterness from the herbs and is only meant to prepare the mixture.
Now the real Mamajuana begins 😍
💥 Strong version:
90% rum + 10% honey. Let it infuse for about 2 weeks.
😌 Smooth and sweeter version:
70% red wine + 30% rum + honey to taste. Let it infuse for up to 3 weeks.
