Aun'Va was the ethereal supreme of the T'au Ethereal Caste and head of state of the T'au Empire. He was an almost religious figure of awe for the T'au and was also known as the "Master of the Undying Spirit" to his people. Wookiees are a tall species of furry humanoids from the planet Kashyyyk, who could grow to a height of nearly three meters. They were covered from head to toe in a thick, shaggy coat of hair with water-shedding properties that notably came in shades of brown, black, gray, and white. Despite their fearsome appearance and volatile temperament, Wookiees were regarded as intelligent, sophisticated, loyal, and trusting. When angered, Wookiees were known to descend into a berserker rage. Wookiees had an average lifespan of 400 standard years. They could learn to understand other languages, like Galactic Basic Standard, but they were physically unable to speak them.

The Tau TX4 Piranha is a lightly armored combat scout skimmer used by the Tau Fire Caste. They are mobile weapons platform that is capable of great speed and maneuverability. a Piranha is a fast-moving craft that is extremely hard for a foe to hit, its twin crew is well able to hug the terrain and make the best use of any cover.
A Piranha's weaponry allows it to punch well above its own weight, using its Burst Cannon to tear through enemy infantry or a Fusion Blaster to blow apart battle tanks. Along with a nose-mounted main armament, a Piranha carries two Gun Drones. These can be detached into AI mode to perform some other missions or fire support.

Kroot Hounds are an evolutionary step backward. It is likely that the Kroot Hounds came into existence when a Kroot Kindred consumed too many quadrupedal animals and its body was phenotypically transformed by the Kroots' ability to mimic the genomes of whatever they consume into a quadrupedal form that became the first of the Kroot Hounds. Kroot Hounds are capable enough to fight enemies larger and stronger than themselves. They are usually deployed in packs. Using their agility, sharp claws, and powerful jaws, they are able to wound or kill almost any opponent, even armored Space Marines in certain instances. Kroot Hounds are ferocious in battle and are notoriously bad-tempered as beasts. Even when not in battle, it is not unheard of for a Kroot Hound to turn on its Kroot handler.

Tau Commander in an XV86 Coldstar Battlesuit which is a highly versatile variant of the XV85 Enforcer. It is made for Tau Commanders, the XV86 is covered in fins that streamline it, allowing super-fast movement across the battlefield, and annihilating enemies with a deadly array of weapons. The on-board Holophoton Countermeasures and telemetry suites feed the Coldstar and its Commander pilot a massive variety of information that would overwhelm most lesser minds, in this case, it allows the Coldstar Battlesuit to soar over its foes with a grace that enemy targeting systems cannot hope to catch and lock target on.

It is mainly used to transport ground forces and can carry twelve Fire Warriors or specialist Pathfinders into combat in relative safety, and then provide deadly mobile fire support once they disembark. The XV104 Riptide Battlesuit it is designed to combat the most dangerous enemies of the T'au Empire. A Riptide is a massive engine of war, its long, back-jointed legs hold up a heavily armoured torso that houses the Riptide’s dark matter nova reactor, an experimental power generator that can be activated should the shas'vre pilot require extra power to sustain his heavy rate of fire. The XV104 carries a sleek Riptide Shield Generator on one arm and a Heavy Burst Cannon. To provide manoeuvrability, the XV104 Riptide Battlesuit is also equipped with a large Jetpack that juts out from its shoulder blades. On the battlefield, a Riptide can jet quickly to plug gaps in T'au lines and give covering fire for its colleagues whilst shielding its allies with its armoured bulk.
