One of my favourite tools a small brass finger plane with flat sole and a 6.5mm iron. Basically enough to do the complete inside and outside arching. Of course I use also bigger ones for roughing and flatter areas. Happy Lunar New Year to everyone who’s celebrating today!🐲🐉🧧🎊

특정 연주자를 위해서, 혹은 특정한 요구에 맞춘 바이올린 제작을 하는지요?
저는 특정인을 위한 악기를 만들기보다는 그저 매번 저의 악기를 만듭니다. 많은 경우, 특정인을 위해 만든 악기가 그를 만족시키기보다는 아닌 경우가 대부분입 니다. 솔직히 말해 표준적인 악기를 매번 제작하는 것이, 누군가의 마음에 들기 위해 노력한 악기보다 낫습니다. 사운드를 카피한다는 다소 불가능한 이야기처 럼, 누군가의 마음에 드는 맞춤형 제작을 특별히 염두에 두고 있지 않습니다.

Do you make violins for specific musicians or specific needs?
I just make my instruments “the same” every time rather than making instruments for specific people. In many cases, an instrument made for a particular person might be disappointing sound wise and this not satisfying for both sides. To be honest, making a standard instrument every time is better than an instrument you've worked hard to please someone, who’s not happy with the result but feels a burden to buy it in the end. Like the somewhat impossible story of copying the sound, I'm not specifically thinking of customizing someone's liking.
