Lowden Master Series - Serial Number #433
This Lowden Master Series is an exceptional instrument that combines outstanding craftsmanship, carefully selected tonewoods, and the distinctive tonal philosophy of Lowden. The Master Series is built in direct collaboration with George Lowden, who is personally and extensively involved in crafting these special instruments. This gives each guitar a unique connection to the brand’s heritage and uncompromising standards of sound and construction.
The renowned Lowden F body shape offers an excellent balance of playing comfort, rich tonal depth, and impressive resonance. A solid Sinker Redwood top is paired with solid African Blackwood back and sides. This remarkable tonewood combination provides the foundation for a detailed and expressive sound, with a responsive attack, complex overtones, and a wide dynamic range. From delicate fingerpicking to expressive strumming, the guitar is designed to deliver a nuanced and versatile musical response.
The mahogany and rosewood neck is complemented by an ebony fingerboard, beautifully accented by distinctive butterfly inlays. The ebony headstock overlay reinforces the instrument’s refined appearance. Koa binding and a matching koa bevel add elegant visual details while reflecting the exceptional attention to craftsmanship and design. The Madagascar rosewood bridge harmonizes with the guitar’s premium materials, while Gotoh 510 tuning machines provide precise and reliable tuning.
The combination of carefully selected materials, meticulous workmanship, and George Lowden’s direct involvement makes this Master Series a remarkable acoustic guitar for discerning musicians who value tonal quality, individuality, and traditional lutherie.
