A short update after a HUGE Event ar Clash of the Titans - RC Drift Competition

There was quite a few big 👁️ 👁️ and it makes my heart warm. Here is a small inside of „WHY?“

This one isn’t a chassi as on its own. The bottom plate is hand-cutted to fit the body. As I wanted to seal the gaps as good as possible to allow airflow to do the magic.

Choosing a e31 body was only by a prediction that it would be as stiff as possible. That makes the whole car complete with flex needed (because we run mostly on smooth surfaces) and stiffness (as then this act like a chassi)

The goal is to have the weight spread arrow the whole car and not just where usual „weight shift“ Battery is. That is how you get individual pressure on those wheels where you need it.

Remember - everything is hand cut because I want the people to see that no Computer, CNC or other Genius is needed. Just an idea and some Courage.

As this now already viral - here it is.

After some difficulties to even start the car, body won’t stick, gyro making some strange moves and I forgot to change the diff (so I was driving with solid axle) - I managed to drive it a couple of laps just before TOP32 started.

Foud out that because of low weight, basically no weight in the front, car won’t turn at low speed.

This is still a working test chassis. You can see it still has some unnecessary connections, raw wood, unfinished look.

Still a few ideas left unfinished.

Also because of this - a 4th place with this incredible lineup is way more exciting as I expected.





P.S.: yes , you see right - there will be some 3D printed parts also 😇😁
