Third video about rolls. Rolls are one of the core exercises every touch guitar or tapping player should master. They build control, consistency, and hand coordination, forming the foundation for clean and expressive playing. 🎸💪

In this video, Alex Dowerk takes the concept further by exploring rhythmic variations he calls “Roll Groups.” By shifting accents and timing, he transforms a simple roll into a dynamic rhythmic study — perfect for improving groove, timing, and articulation.

Essential practice for anyone serious about developing solid touch technique!

In this video, Alexander Dowerk explores the pentachord approach as a way of understanding and navigating the touch guitar fretboard.

A pentachord is a five-note structure that can be used as a practical building block for melodies, improvisation, and composition. Instead of thinking only in terms of individual notes, the player works with small, connected patterns that can be moved, combined, and expanded across the instrument.

Exploring 9/8 Rhythmic Patterns on Touch Guitars® – “Spring” by Stefan Huth
In this video, Stefan Huth demonstrates the creative possibilities of a 9/8 rhythmic pattern on Touch Guitars, using a section from his solo composition “Spring” as an example.

A 9/8 time signature can be approached in many different ways. While it naturally contains nine eighth notes, it can also be divided into different groupings that create completely different feels:

9 - feeling the full cycle as one continuous rhythmic phrase
3 + 3 + 3 – creating a flowing, symmetrical movement
4 or other combinations introducing tension and shifting accents

By changing the internal structure of the same 9/8 meter, a simple rhythmic framework can transform into something dynamic and expressive. The Touch Guitar shows these patterns to be explored through the interaction of rhythm, harmony, and melody.

Stefan shows how odd meters are not only a technical concept, but a powerful compositional tool for creating movement, atmosphere, and musical storytelling.

Arranging Chords and Melody on Touchguitars - “Drive” by Stefan Huth
Stefan Huth demonstrates how simple chords and a melody can be combined into a complete arrangement a touch guitar, using his song “Drive” from his self-titled solo album.

By combining harmony, melody, and rhythm, a single instrument can create the feeling of multiple musical layers.

Practising with Distortion or let's say hearing Every Detail...

Distortion is often associated with power, sustain, and a bigger sound but it is also one of the best tools for improving your technique.

When practising with distortion, every detail becomes more exposed. Unwanted noises, uneven articulation, inconsistent touch, timing issues, and unnecessary movements are all amplified. What might stay hidden with a clean sound becomes immediately noticeable.

For touch guitar players, this makes distortion a valuable practice environment. It encourages precision, control, and awareness of every single note. Muting technique, dynamics, and the connection between both hands become essential parts of creating a clear and expressive sound.

The goal is not to avoid these challenges, but to use them as feedback. A distorted sound can reveal exactly where your technique can become more refined helping you develop a cleaner, more controlled, and more powerful musical expression.

Practice tip: Turn up the gain, listen closely, and let the sound show you what needs attention.

A new Touch Guitar concept design with guitarists in mind.

With our shortest scale yet, a 28″–26.5″ multiscale, it feels more familiar while keeping the full expressive range of a Touch Guitar.

Featuring Rivera tuners, a highly tweakable filter preamp, nova - innovative pickup systems pickups and a redesigned body that can be played horizontally, in a classical position, or in the traditional vertical Touch Guitar style.

Tap, pick, strum, fingerstyle—play it your way.

A concept exploring what happens when two worlds come together.

There’s something special about a satin black instrument that lets the wood speak for itself. This U10 Deluxe pairs a swamp ash body with a coal satin black open-pore finish, giving it a raw, understated look while keeping the natural grain alive.

Built for players who live in the lower registers, it’s equally at home with down-tuned textures, heavy riffs, ambient soundscapes, and intricate two-handed tapping. The extended range stays clear and articulate, with the swamp ash adding punch, definition, and plenty of resonance.Ready to go low.
