How it all started...

I started building pedals and amps for fun in 2008. In my main job I work with video and projection equipment - technologies in that field have become so complex and intransparent that it frustrates me sometimes. So the simplicity of a few components to create unique sounds was and is a welcome change. I did a lot of custom pedals based on readymade circuit boards and also on strip- and tagboard and then finally started °red sun fx as a real company in 2013. My goal is to develop pedals that have their own character and design while using the best parts that I can find. I want to be transparent about the origin of the parts and I try to source them directly from European manufacturers. Also, combining designer, builder and support in one person is one of the advantages of a small pedal workshop compared to a big electronics manufacturer.
