Welcome Mr.Baracco...👏

Originally from Burgundy, Bastien began playing the trumpet at the age of 7. Alongside his training as an orchestral musician, he began a course in orchestral conducting with Philippe Cambreling, Grand Prix winner at the Besançon International Conducting Competition in 1981. In 2021, he began his trumpet studies at the Lucerne University of Music. He completed his Bachelor's degree there in 2025, obtaining the highest possible grade and the congratulations of the jury. Taking part in the academies of the Orchestre Français des Jeunes and the Lucerne Festival, Bastien never ceased to strive to master his playing and accumulated experience as an orchestral musician with renowned conductors such as Susanna Mälkki, Sir George Benjamin, Michael Schønwandt and Julien Chauvain.

From 2024, he devoted more time to conducting, joining Jean-François Verdier's class in France and Clemens Heil's in Switzerland. Since then, Bastien has accumulated a wealth of experience as an assistant conductor, working with Herbert Blomstedt and the Orchestre de Paris on Anton Bruckner's 8th Symphony and with his teacher Clemens Heil on Benjamin Britten's opera 'The Turn of the Screw'. He is regularly invited to take part in masterclasses with leading pedagogues such as Nicolas Pasquet, Johannes Schlaefli and Scott Sandmeier throughout Europe. Since 2021, Bastien has been artistic director of the Collectif Licht and recently co-founded the Labor Sinfonieorchester, of which he is principal conductor.

We look forward to working with you!
