Today we celebrate a remarkable anniversary! On February 19, 1901, Lux was founded in Stockholm for the very first time.
What began over 125 years ago with a simple kerosene lamp – Lux coming from the Latin word for light – has grown into a globally recognized brand committed to improving people’s lives and living environments.
🔹 1901 – AB Lux is established in Stockholm, launching its first kerosene lamps.
🔹 1912 – Lux introduces the Lux I electric vacuum cleaner, pioneering home cleaning innovation.
🔹 Today – Lux International stands as the healthy home company, offering cutting-edge solutions for better living, restful sleep, clean air and pure water in homes around the world – with a strong and growing portfolio for B2C, B2B and B2G solutions.
For more than a century, our mission has remained true: to make living spaces healthier, cleaner, and more enjoyable for people everywhere. From air purification and restful sleep to innovative home solutions – for private homes, businesses and public institutions – we continue to build on our heritage of quality, trust, and forward-thinking design.
