Apolda – Former center for bell founding and textiles. Industrial background, minimal tourist appeal.

Greiz – Underrated and scenic, known as the “Pearl of the Vogtland.” Features two castles and a pleasant valley setting.

Schmalkalden – One of the most visually appealing towns here. Well-preserved half-timbered old town and strong historical atmosphere.

Sömmerda – Industrial town north of Erfurt. Better used as a base than a destination.

Heilbad Heiligenstadt – Traditional center of the Eichsfeld region with a calm, authentic feel. More cultural than exciting.

Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, an interesting State 🤨The Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (state) is Germany's smallest federal state, specifically comprising two non-contiguous cities: Bremen (the state capital) and Bremerhaven. One car company turned this small city into Germany’s wealth champion. Small adjustment needed though, the average GDP is well over €158,000. Still Wolfsburg's output per resident is more than triple the average of other major German cities and significantly higher than financial hubs like Frankfurt (~€97,000) or Munich (~€86,000).

You know it's bad when jokes like this are compared to your project known as BER Airport in Berlin. Originally planned to open in 2011, it finally began operations on October 31, 2020—nine years late and roughly three times over its original budget. The most infamous moment occurred in May 2012, just 26 days before a grand opening ceremony that was to include Chancellor Angela Merkel and 40,000 guests. The Cancellation: The opening was abruptly cancelled after inspectors found the fire safety and smoke extraction system was fundamentally broken.
The "Monster" System: The design attempted to pull smoke downward through the floor rather than letting it rise, a complex feat that the automated systems couldn't handle.
The Result: For years, the airport became a "ghost" facility where empty trains ran to keep the tunnels ventilated and thousands of lights remained on because the central switch didn't work.

If you have had an experience on German trains, then you know what I mean.
I get it, many different bundeslander, different operators etc etc but come on, despite its very varying differences Germany was also united, do the same with the trains. I really would not mind using public transport more often but it is so bad that after the third failure I'm not even going to risk it.
What are your experiences?
