European spruce collected in Romania around 2010, trimmed today. Small/medium size tree with very nice taper, movement and interesting deadwood parts, in very well-suited ceramics by Juraj Homola.
This tree is more "classical" one with just a hint of naturalism, it is good to practice various styles throughout the collection and small/smaller trees often "guide" the creator towards more symbolic expression (therefore we do not have many of them :-) ).

We also have some small size bonsai trees :-) (but not many). This is a Mugo pine from a cheap regular nursery material ...

We also have some small size bonsai trees :-) (but not many). This is a Mugo pine from a cheap regular nursery material bought around 20 years ago. We first focused on growing and compacting techniques (in fact much faster than an instant heavy styling) and then it was mostly a matter of proper cultivation and maturing. In past two years we let the pine regain its strenght, this spring repotted into a pot by Lukas Praus and perhaps ready for autumn refinement.

Field grown European linden created by the master grower which was lifter from the ground in spring 2024. In February 2025 we made the styling and editing of the tree (but 80 - 90% was already there), this spring we have moved the linden into this very fine wood-fired pot by Martin Asenbrenner. We are very glad that we can give our care to this magnificent specimen, a keeper indeed!

Promissing European hornbeam collected localy just 5 years ago. Styled in January 2025, this spring repotted for the second time in much smaller pot (just a bit too deep) while we compacted its left side: we took off a clump of various sub-trunks on their own roots which will make a nice regular size individual tree :-).

The repotting season is (almost) over, now we are ready for the pruning time.Two new stands built in a corner of the gar...

The repotting season is (almost) over, now we are ready for the pruning time.
Two new stands built in a corner of the garden, swiftly occupied by two big compositions: a massive field-grown Norway maple in its first ceramics + an European beech group planting made from cheap nursery stock aprox. 7 years ago. As there were (accidentalyy) green leaf and red leaf plants the composition was baptized as "The Allies" :-).

European spruce group planting created from the old trees collected in Alps in early 2000´s. Purchased from our friend´s collection in 2017 in quite a "dull" state of composition and rather poor health condition. Reorganized in 2019 in much more dynamic setting, however with just 3 main living trees, two smaller ones had died meanwhile and were incorporated as deadwood trunks. Restyled in 2021 and refined in 2025, now planted onto an artifical slab by Josef Rauscher which has brought an extra feature, we are quite happy with the progress.

A monstrosity of a Norway maple (Acer platanoides) which has been field grown by a master grower and lifted from the ground in spring 2024. After two growing seasons we set up the secondary and tertiary branches which were still flexible enough to be bent. A little bit of tricky species to tame in terms of internodes leght and leaf size, however at this brutal format (50+ cm of nebari spread) and the quality of material (definitely one of the best norway maples bonsai around) it would be a pitty not to give it a try. This spring a repot into its first ceramic is needed, the progress will be reported.
