Head of anthropomorphic (human-like) figurine, material: terracotta, Vinča culture, Neolithic period, around 5000 – 4500 years BC, found at remains of prehistoric settlement at Medvednjak archaeological site in Grčac, vicinity of Smederevska Palanka, central Serbia.
It is made in a typical manner of Vinča figural art, with face shaped as flat triangular mask, large nose and eyes framed with eyelashes filled with white inlay.
Dimensions - height 6 cm.

Head of anthropomorphic (human-shaped) or zoomorphic (animal-shaped) figurine, or maybe a protoma - head shaped adornment mostly on vessels, material: terracotta, Vinča culture, Neolithic period (the New Stone Age), around 5000-4500 years BC, found in Serbia.
It depicts stylized head. Face is simplified, shaped as a flat mask with large notch-like eyes and large nose. On the top of the head is depicted some kind of hat or headdress, or maybe are depicted horns or ears.

Anthropomorphic (human-like) figurine named “Divostinka“, material: terracotta, Vinča culture, Neolithic period (the New Stone Age), around 5000–4500 years BC, found in Divostin, vicinity of Kragujevac, central Serbia.
It has typical features of Vinča figural art, bird-like face with large nose and eyes, wide hips which may indicate that this is a female figurine, and ornaments on the body representing V-neck clothes. Small holes on the head, arms and hips were probably used for attaching decorative ornaments or for hanging the figurine on a rope or a string.

Head of anthropomorphic (human-shaped) figurine, material: baked clay, Vinča culture, Neolithic period (the New Stone Age), around 5000 - 4500 years BC, found in Guča, Dragačevo region, western Serbia.
The head is shaped as flat, triangular mask, with large eyes and nose, and with no mouth. Whole surface is richly decorated with incised geometrical ornaments.

Праисторијска скулптура исклесана од кварцног пешчара названа “Глава са украсима” са урезаним линеарним орнаментима и траговима црвене боје на врху, култура Лепенског Вира, раздобље мезолита, око 6300-5900 година пре н.е, пронађена на археолошком локалитету Лепенски вир код Ђердапа, на десној обали Дунава у источној Србији.
Збирка Народног музеја у Београду.
Скулптуре попут ове, неке у облику људских фигура, друге са сложеним орнаментима, биле су укопане у подове и постављене уз огњишта кућа у насељима културе Лепенског Вира, формирајући тако неку врсту ритуалног простора или олтара.
Лепенски Вир представља изузетно значајно и по много чему јединствено праисторијско налазиште. На овом локалитету издвојена су насеља која припадају раном мезолиту, од 9500. до 7500 год. пре н.е. (Прото ЛепенскиВир), позном мезолиту, од 6300. до 5900. пре н.е. (Лепенски Вир Iа-е, Лепенски Вир II) и раном неолиту, од 5900. до 5500. пре н.е. (Лепенски Вир IIIа-б).
Оно што Лепенски Вир данас чини познатим и препознатљивим у свету јесу открића која се хронолошки везују за мезолит. Плански подизана насеља са стаништима и светилиштима трапезоидне основе, некрополе које указују на посебне погребне ритуале, монументалне скулптуре од камена те бројни налази од кости и камена сведоче о томе да ово налазиште није било само насеље, већ и сакрални центар. У време када је откривен, Лепенски Вир је представљао изоловани феномен, а та ситуација се није битно променила до данас. За разлику од других делова Европе, у којима постоје само оскудна сведочанства о мезолиту, на Лепенском Виру су пронађени остаци који омогућавају целовиту реконструкцију културе, уметности и друштва тог периода (ArcheoSerbia)

Занимљив коментар Goran Laz:..mnogo grešimo kod razumevanja artefakata iz prošlosti... ovo nema veze ni sa glavom ni sa religiozno mitološkim predstavama... ovo je bio jedini način da se zabeleže i iz praktičnih razloga isprate stvari bitne za zajednicu... prikazana je šema izmene mape vodovoda sa 4 stanice, veštačkih termo bunara...
