The above three masterpieces of the kiln, their glaze patterns are naturally formed when they are fired in the dragon kiln. They belong to the iron-calcium crystalline glaze and must be fired in a reducing flame above 1300 degrees. Because this kind of crystalline glaze is very sensitive and changeable, it is difficult to control, and the body with high iron oxide content is difficult to withstand high temperature changes. It is very difficult to fire an excellent building with no defects in appearance and beautiful markings, even in modern times. It's also difficult to master, so excellent Jianzhan is very rare in ancient and modern China and abroad, and it is rare to see it on the market.
From the characteristics of the craftsmanship of the firing of Jianzhan, we know that firing an excellent work will inevitably be accompanied by a large number of waste and defective products, especially in the Song Dynasty. When we walked into the ancient kiln ruins, it is not difficult to see this astonishingly mountain-shaped waste accumulation. So why does the kiln artist want to make this kind of tea bowl, which is difficult and has a low success rate? Undoubtedly, the bucket tea culture and art popular in the Song Dynasty was the fundamental reason driving the development of Jian kilns. The history of Jian kilns is closely related to the history of bucket tea.
