Martina Berthers Musik ist ein Sammelsurium an Sounds, sphärisch und wuchtig, zwischen Wind und Wand, frei improvisiert am E-Bass. Musik mit Strom und gegen den Strom.

«THE I BECOMES A WE»
Das Ausgangsmatieral für dieses Stück sind Obertöne, die je nach gespielter Taste auf dem Harmonium unterschiedlich stark aktiviert und in Schwingung versetzt werden.
Wird den statischen Tönen in ihrer Einfachheit genügend Raum gegeben, werden mit der Zeit ihre mitschwingenden Schichtungen selektiv hör- und wahrnehmbar. 
Das Stück baut sich langsam im Rhythmus der Obertöne auf und lädt dazu ein, sich sitzend, kopfdrehend, umherlaufend oder liegend auf die beweglichen Anteile des Klangs zu fokussieren.
 Der Titel «THE I BECOMES A WE» erinnert immer wieder daran, dass es sich lohnt, lange genug einer einzelnen Präsenz zuzuhören, da sie sich dadurch ganz sicher pluralisieren wird.
Anuk Schmelcher (Biel/Zürich) studiert zurzeit Sound Arts in Bern, spielt Schlagzeug als Teil vom Hackbrett-Pop-Trio Obliecht und kommt im April mit «The I becomes a We», ihrem Soloprojekt mit Harmonium, in den OOR-Saloon. Im Oktober 2022 erscheint Anuks erste EP, in welcher sie als Multiinstrumentalisitin ihre Sprachlosigkeiten besingt.

Vivian Wang (SGP)

Composer, sound artist and musician Vivian Wang explores intermediate spaces, developing transdisciplinary works across a range of sonic intersections in art, culture and space. She has performed as a noise and improv musician for over a decade. Her main instruments are synth, voice, electronics, field recording and prepared objects. Vivian has toured and performed extensively. A founding member of experimental rock group The Observatory, Wang’s foray into immersive sound began with a 4-channel composition for House of Sentiments (2018) at the Bern Kunstmuseum in collaboration with the U5 art collective. This evolved with Priests & Programmers (2019), a multichannel installation commissioned for the inaugural Sharjah Architecture Triennial. Recently at Ekko festival in Norway, Wang presented Alt Human (2021), a new octophonic work exploring non lingual voiced sounds and breath. Wang is active in performance, sound research and continues to compose for film, theatre and new media. Vivian appears on US label Utech Records as ARCN TEMPL and on Sacred Bones and 4AD with Jenny Hval. Her solo album Schichtarbeiten (2019) combines found sounds and sonic fragments of her Southeast Asian upbringing to create musical portraits accompanying a series of abandoned spaces by photographer Philipp Aldrup. Wang is heavily inspired by Balinese gamelan and Southeast Asian microtonal systems, as well as the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.

Franziska Koch (CH)
Franziska Koch is interested in multilayered, interwoven practices, theories, methods, co-existences and technologies. Franziska works on sonic performances and sound translations, experimental performances and exhibition formats based on collective and experience-based practices. In doing so she is committed to emancipatory, social, political approaches and engaged pedagogy.
As «No I Don't» Franziska released and performed with Aio Frei, Vivian Wang, TRA, Taimashoe, Sally Schonfeldt, Na-Ah, Chantal Küng, Pascale Schreibmüller amongst others.
She is co-founder of OOR Records & OOR Saloon. Together with Aio Frei and Ahmet Köken they form the artistic-curatorial team of OOR Saloon.
Franziska teaches artistic practices at the BA Fine Arts at the ZHdK.


Miao Zhao (CHN)

Clarinetist, Improviser and curator Miao Zhao was born in 1990, China, currently active in-between spaces across Switzerland. As a classically trained clarinetist, she interprets and creates new compositions with friends and colleagues. Miao is considered as an avid explorer of free improvised music, experimenting from an nonconformist approach, often resulting in a type of raw, questionable musical behaviours. Since 2018 She has founded and been active in projects such as Noijzu, mm+tt, Secrétariat and AMARUS Community.

(T)ina Aimé Oma (Yemi) Reden
is a zurich based artist, teacher, cultural and community worker. Her work is collaborative and explores the possibilities within listening practices and their resulting entanglements, desires and relationships. She works with sound installations, healing practices, storytellings or performances as possible places for q***r Black feminist and mindful practices. She is an active member of the Network Bla*Sh and the collective FUBU in Zurich. She has been teaching in several artschools in Switzerland and the Netherlands and has shared her practice at spaces such as Shedhallel, Gessnerallee, OOR Saloon in zurich, CAN Neuchâtel, Kunstverein Amsterdam and several radio stations around the earth.

(And)(ré)ina Aimé (Veigas)
is an artist, collaborator, and composer based in zurich. working across a multitude of media, their practice primarily focuses on voice and sound, making installations, compositions, and live performances. they are deeply interested in questions concerning q***r practices of listening and calling into question essentialist notions of voice, gender, sexuality, and identity. their work was exhibited and presented at Les Complices* zurich, OOR Saloon zurich, NEST zurich, and Berlin Community Radio.

(N)ina aimé (Emge)
Die Untersuchung von Klang und seiner Wirkung steht im Mittelpunkt der künstlerischen Praxis von (N) ina aimé (Emge). In ihrer Arbeit erkundet sie Hörmethoden, Ausdrucksmittel und Räume, um die Fülle und Komplexität der Stille und des Konzepts des Zuhörens zu erforschen. Dies zeigt sich in ihrer Forschungs- und Archivierungsarbeit, ihren Installationen und Zeichnungen sowie in den oft kollaborativen Arbeits- und Schaffensprozessen.

Nelson Irsapoullé (Geneve)
Nelson Irsapoullé ist Klangkünstler und Performer.x. Er leitet und kreiert seine eigenen Projekte aus der Perspektive des situierten Wissens. Nelson bietet Klangstücke und autofiktionale Erzählungen wie Erzählungen, Reisen ins Unbewusste. Seine Arbeit hinterfragt die Beziehung zwischen Wissen und Macht, Verlangen und Besessenheit, Sein und Haben. Nelson Irsapoullé stellt die Frage, wie er seine Körper, unsere Körper und unser Leben in einer postkapitalistischen und ungleichen Gesellschaft bewohnen kann.

Méryll Ampe (FR)
As sound and visual artist, Méryll Ampe develops artworks through field recordings, electronic. Ampe establishes links between musical and visual practice, using techniques directly linked to sculpture: to cut in the mass, to model, to chisel by using digital tools of sound processing and analog tools, allowing to generate echo, tensions, breaks and punctuations. By this research, this prehension, Méryll composes orchestrated and spatial tones. Méryll Ampe invests places and composes soundtracks in situ. When it comes to the performance practice, Méryll Ampe conceives improvisation as a notion of «plan-sequence», revealing the immersive composition of space.

Julie Semoroz is singer, sound artist and head of artistic projects. Semoroz shapes sound using several sources such as field recordings, live microphones and her own voice with software and hardware. She offers sound pieces like inner journeys into the subconscious that pe*****te into the darkness. Her work focuses on people’s individual relationship with mechanical and organic time. Her creations address new technologies and our post-industrial consumerist society. In her ecology-based research, in the sense of «habitat», Julie Semoroz raises the question of how to experience our bodies and lives in the society.

Emma Souharce lives with her electric and electronic instruments which she transforms and manipulates some- times like toys, sometimes like tools of massive decomposition. With a disconcerting freedom of movement, between lo-fi caresses and screams of micro-machines, she sculpts in the sound material to extract the most subtle harmonies and dissonances. Through its turbulent and rugged physical landscapes, this ritualist alchemist works a trance from a series of intense movements to benevolent resolution, with the secret ambition to reach complete symbiotic states.

Effraction Vacances

Effraction Vacances (Julie Semoroz and Emma Souharce) offers a mutant pop ballad with a field recording background. The two accomplices take as a starting point for each of their concerts a mainstream song that they brutally break down to extract a joyful sound magma.

The two artists have been collaborating since 2018 with the duo Effraction Vacances, an improvised live play format based on mainstream pop music from the 1990/2000 – different each time – setting it up as a decomposed sculp- ture. For this new form, Semoroz and Souharce are focusing on the possibilities of nested different timings in live, playing on large dynamic ranges inspired by both Instagram culture and drone music.

Taimashoe & B Frix (CH)
Gessica Zinni ist Taimashoe, und ein grosser Teil ihrer Arbeit besteht im Experimentieren: mit Sprachen, mit dem Widerhall von Bildern und Stimmen, gepitchten Zithern, Samples, allerlei elektronischen Gerätschaften und Chaospads. Die losen und doch narrativen, teilweise fast dadaistischen Erzählstränge Zinnis widerspenstiger Singstimme gesellen sich zu objektartigen Klangfiguren, verdichten sich zu einem fein arrangierten, brüchigen Klanggebilde, welches immermalwieder beinahe zu kollabieren droht. Taimashoe selber nannte ihren Sound mal einen Kompromiss zwischen Gospel, Shoegaze, Experimental Noise und Codeine-Pop. Vermehrt finden Pausen, Unterbrüche, und Brüche Eingang in ihren freshen Down-The-Rabbit-Hole-Experimentier-Noise-DIY-Pop. Ihre Stimme ist nicht mehr nur im Vordergrund, sondern bricht und verlässt die klassische Sing'n'Songwriter Struktur und gesellt sich auf dieselbe Ebene wie die Soundelemente, die gesellig miteinander in Beziehung treten. Taimashoe ist genau und krumm at the same time, würgt gern mal die Harmonie und quetscht das alte feminisierte Liedermacherinnenbild durch die Mayo-Tube. Für das allerletzte Konzert im OOR Records bringt sie ihren alten Freund und Plouk Labelbetreiber B Frix mit! Wir freuen uns auf das Duo infernale! Viene viene!

Suntka Rinke (DE)

Suntka Rinke is a creative technologist based in Zurich. Her practice includes visual acoustic and speculative methods to make abstract concepts accessible to broader audiences. By exploring mathematics, sensors and everyday's data, Sunkta dissolves the boundaries in her sound sculpture, dissolving the borders between the visual, technological and audible realms.
For oor revoir, she is creating a spatial experience with kite and modular synthesizers.

DJ Marcelle (NLD)
Surprise, enthusiasm, entertainment and education: Four key words often used for describing DJ and producer Marcelle/Another Nice Mess. Using live (and in the studio) three turntables, Marcelle takes her mix talents to high heights. She is as much, or even more of, a musician as she is a dj. Since 2016 she produces her own music as well.
By putting different styles of music in a different context, Marcelle changes the way we experience individual styles. She fuses musical styles like no other, making it seem like they always belonged together and making the audience believe they are listening to one track instead of three played simultaneously.
She plays with expectations and roles: Environmental sounds are combined with avant garde noises, animal sounds are used and mixed with weirdo techno, experimental jazz tunes, hip hop, electronicas, dance music from every corner of this planet, dubstep, dancehall and lots of as much unclassifiable records as the ones above are anyhow.
She is an original, skilled mixer, with a very distinctive style of her own, avoiding most dj-cliches and stale rules. As much inspired by avant garde art movements as fluxus and dada, real life absurdisms as by the experiments of dub, post-punk and the latest developments in electronic dance music – Marcelle has always been following musical developments very closely and has a keen ear for interesting soundscapes. With her extensive record collection of some 20,000 vinyl and counting, Marcelle has a strong historical knowledge of past and contemporary musics.
Marcelle plays all over Europe, both in clubs and in meseums/galleries, and is a resident dj in a lot of cities, amongst them Vienna, Berlin, Munich, Basel and Zurich. The Uganda Nyege Nyege Music Festival has appointed her as 'lifetime resident dj'.
Marcelle also does weekly and monthly radio shows for various radio stations in Europe, like Red Light Radio, FSK and DFM.
Over the last almost 8 years of OOR Records’ existence, DJ Marcelle was a beloved regular Costumer and great Friend, and we are more than happy to welcome her back at OOR Records for the last GRANDE FINISH DANCE! OUR DANCE IS A BOW, DEAREST MARCELLE!
