An unforgettable tasting, with wines that left a lasting impression…

1️⃣ Coume Ginest 2015 – Domaine Gauby

Everyone guessed Riesling thanks to those distinctive petrol notes. A Roussillon white that fooled the entire table.

2️⃣ Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2017 – Domaine Bruno Clair

Surprisingly open and expressive for such a young vintage. Already showing impressive depth.

3️⃣ Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques 1er Cru 2011 – Domaine Bruno Clair

A legendary terroir, here in perfect maturity, combining finesse, intensity, and balance.

4️⃣ Gevrey-Chambertin 1er cru Combe aux Moines Vieilles Vignes 2014 – Domaine Fourrier
Pure red fruit, silky texture, a crystalline definition of Gevrey.

5️⃣ Musigny Grand Cru 2017 – Joseph Drouhin

Simply incredible! A wine of absolute grace, with depth and length that command respect.

6️⃣ Nuits-Saint-Georges “La Petite Charmotte” 2021 – Charles Lachaux

A vibrant and refined style, bursting with fruit, with that modern touch that defines Lachaux’s signature.

7️⃣ Cornas 2009 – Domaine Auguste Clape

The power of the Northern Rhône: bold, sun-drenched, yet remarkably precise.

8️⃣ Hermitage 2009 – Domaine Jean-Louis Chave
An absolute bomb: concentration, intensity, and perfect balance. Chave at its very peak.

9️⃣ Château Climens 1986 – Barsac 1er Cru Classé
A noble sweet wine, honeyed and candied, still lifted by vibrant freshness after nearly 40 years.

👉 Highlights of the evening:

Coume Ginest mistaken for Riesling,
Clos de Bèze 2017 surprisingly open,
Musigny 2017 absolutely stunning,
and the Hermitage Chave 2009, a bomb.

8 Iconic Wines – A Journey Through Terroir, Time and Emotion

Bollinger La Grande Année 2014
A Champagne of rare intensity, with notes of candied lemon, baked apple, and toasted brioche. The palate masterfully balances richness and tension, leading to a saline, chalky finish with surgical precision.

Clos des Lambrays 1996 Domaine des Lambrays
Where elegance meets maturity. Aromas of stewed red fruit, forest floor and leather emerge. On the palate: delicate, with resolved tannins and an earthy, graceful aftertaste.

Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2017 Domaine Bruno Clair
A monument of Burgundy: black fruit, violet and white pepper lead the nose. The palate is dense and youthful, yet already noble, marked by refined power and length.

Hermitage La Chapelle 1991 Paul Jaboulet Aîné
A legendary Rhône white in full maturity. Deep notes of honeyed stone fruits, lanolin, saffron and warm minerals. Broad and textural, with vibrant energy and a saline, lingering finish.

Barolo Monvigliero 2013 G.B. Burlotto
A benchmark for Barolo elegance. Dried rose, cherry and sweet herbs rise from the glass. Silky tannins, haunting perfume and a long, spicy finish of licorice and blood orange. Ethereal yet precise.

Le Clos Goillotte 1995
A mythical rarity. Truffle, black cherry and musk rise from the glass. Silky, polished tannins lead to a noble, persistent finish. Pure elegance.

Unico 2010 Vega Sicilia
A Spanish icon. Blackcurrant, cedar, graphite and balsamic complexity. Velvety and harmonious on the palate, with extraordinary length and finesse.

Charmes-Chambertin 2009 Joseph Drouhin
Opulent and charming. Ripe raspberry, rose and vanilla captivate the senses. The mouth is generous and caressing – as seductive as its name suggests.

An exceptional tasting night

A journey through Burgundy, Rhône, Tuscany, Champagne and Sauternes. A lineup full of promise, emotion, and one unfortunate disappointment.

Benoît Lahaye Champagne Millésime 2013

A biodynamic grower from Bouzy, known for intense, structured Pinot Noir-based champagnes. This vintage shows vibrant energy, chalky minerality and a precise, lively texture.

Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru “Les Cailles” 2012

One of the finest crus in Nuits. This 2012 is already open and charming, with ripe red fruit, soft spice and a silky mouthfeel. Finesse and balance.

Domaine Robert Sirugue Grands Échezeaux Grand Cru 2012

Still a bit restrained but full of potential. Dark fruit, licorice, firm tannins. A solid structure that promises great development with time.

Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie 2006

A reference point for Northern Rhône Syrah. Floral and smoky with classic notes of violet, tapenade and cured meat. Elegant yet deep, with stunning freshness.

Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino 2004 “Tenuta Greppo”

Sadly corked. A real disappointment from a vintage and estate that typically deliver exceptional class and longevity.

Collosorbo Brunello di Montalcino 2012

Warmer, richer and more modern in style. Ripe blackberries, velvety tannins, sweet spices. A clear contrast to the Biondi-Santi.

Château d’Yquem 1988

Surprisingly pale for its age, but beautifully fresh. Notes of citrus peel, saffron and beeswax. A precise, elegant and long finish. A refined and restrained expression of Yquem.

A beautiful lineup, with character and contrast.

An extraordinary night. Nine bottles. Nine stories. One legend… undone.

A journey through a tasting we won’t forget:

1. Chevalier-Montrachet 2017, Domaine de la Vougeraie
Pure and vertical. A luminous white Burgundy, crystalline in its tension. Chardonnay at its highest expression, from one of the region’s noblest terroirs.

2. La Grange des Pères 2000
The South tamed with precision. Velvety texture, surprising freshness. Perfectly matured, yet still untamed. A Languedoc icon.

3. Réserve des Célestins 1998, Henri Bonneau
A wine of shadow and light. Deep, wild, spicy. Like an old book you dare not close. A profound emotional experience.

4. Pétrus 1961, Pomerol
The myth was there. So was the bottle. But the cork spoke first.
Though marked by cork taint, the palate whispered of greatness. Silky structure, haunting depth, and a trace of immortality. Frustrating, moving, unforgettable.

5. Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2009, Perrot-Minot
Powerful yet poised. A Grand Cru with velvet tannins and immense presence. One of the most commanding wines of the evening.

6. Marsannay Clos du Roy 2018, Domaine Bizot
Burgundy in its purest, most radical form. Silky texture, electric energy, and that signature élevage that divides opinions but never leaves you indifferent.

7. Échézeaux 2010, Domaine Naudin-Ferrand
Taut and spicy, with elegance and drive. A restrained hand in the cellar reveals a vibrant and savory Grand Cru. Claire Naudin’s grace at work.

8. Clos Vougeot 2017, Mugneret-Gibourg
A rare expression of finesse in this often austere terroir. Floral, refined, with a supple depth. A velvet glove from the heart of Vosne.

9. Clos Goillotte 2003, Prieuré Roch
The secret garden of Romanée-Conti. 2003.
Free-spirited and magnetic. A singular cuvée, sensuous yet brimming with tension. A solar vintage tamed by a naturalist’s touch. The most disconcerting wine of the night, and pe rhaps the most alive.

A night suspended in time, where even imperfection tasted like legend.

This exceptional tasting brought together seven outstanding wines from vastly different regions and styles, showcasing the incredible diversity of the wine world. Set against a luminous map of the Côte de Beaune, the empty bottles tell the story of a memorable evening among enthusiasts.

Chablis 1er Cru Montmains 2007, Domaine Raveneau: a great white wine, tense and saline, showing remarkable depth and energy with age, crafted by one of Chablis’ legendary producers.

Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru “Aux Malconsorts” 2013, Domaine Dujac: a young but expressive Pinot Noir, with sweet spices, dark fruits, and a silky texture.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape “Cuvée Marie Beurrier” 2005, Henri Bonneau: a legendary Southern Rhône wine, rich and complex, with notes of black olives, truffle, and dried herbs.

Clos Rougeard “Les Poyeux” 2011, Saumur-Champigny: an exceptionally elegant Cabernet Franc, floral and pure, with a gentle and refined finish.

Soldera Case Basse 2013, Toscana IGT: a linear, noble Sangiovese, bursting with vibrant red fruit and framed by fine tannins, vinified like a work of art.

Vega Sicilia Único 1996, Ribera del Duero: a mythical Spanish wine, mature yet vibrant, offering layers of leather, cedar, black cherry, and to***co.

Château Haut-Brion 1986, Pessac-Léognan: a top-class Bordeaux, perfectly evolved, with refined tannins and aromatic complexity—smoke, ripe cassis, and forest floor.

To the right, a single tasting glass still holds a splash of red wine with brick-toned reflections. Its hue, rim, and clarity suggest a wine that has gracefully aged for decades.

So, what do you think… which bottle does this glass belong to?

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru “Les Morgeot” 2014 – Jean-Claude Ramonet
A taut, mineral white Burgundy with Ramonet’s signature depth and clarity.

Duo 2 – Vintage 2000, North and South in conversation:
4. Château Palmer 2000 – Margaux
Elegant, mature, with classic Left Bank charm.
5. Grange des Pères 2000 – Languedoc
Southern sun in a bottle: deep, spicy, unmistakable.
→ Shared identity: two ageworthy 2000s, each at the top of its region.

Harlan Estate 1999 – Napa Valley
California’s aristocracy. Power with finesse, richness with restraint.
Château d’Yquem 1999 – Sauternes
The golden finale. Layers of honey, spice, and crystalline tension. A timeless icon.

📍 Blind Tasting – Theme: “Clos”

No labels. No expectations. Just glasses, sensations, and this evocative theme: Clos.
Behind each one lies a defined place, often mythical.
And sensations… sometimes unexpected.

🟤 La Tour de Curon 2019 – Tissot (Jura, France)
A tense, vertical white wine, carried by pure minerality.
Still young, but already showing great promise. Jura’s energy in a glass.

🔴 Clos de la Faille 2017 – Albert Mann (Alsace, France)
A discreet Pinot Noir, slightly subdued.
Balanced, but lacked emotion.
A small disappointment… without knowing what it was.

🔴 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2015 – Domaine Charlopin (Burgundy, France)
A Grand Cru that commands respect, even blind.
Fine tannins, classic depth, but still a bit reserved.

🔴 Marsannay Clos du Roy 2017 – Domaine Bizot (Burgundy, France)
An exceptional texture.
A wine that caresses and captivates.
Bizot is Bizot: precise, vibrant, addictive. A highlight.

🔴 Clos Florentin 2016 – Jean-Louis Chave (Rhône, France)
First encounter. And what a discovery!
Balance, finesse, brightness…
A wine that seduces effortlessly. A true favorite.

⚫ Clos Erasmus 2008 – Priorat (Spain)
Warm and structured, yet remarkably elegant.
The kind of Spanish depth that leaves an impression.

🔴 Clos Rougeard 2016 – Saumur (Loire, France)
Still young, but already expressive.
Noble fruit, poised structure.
A lot of joy ahead.

✨ A blind tasting as we love them.
When emotion speaks louder than the label.

Pre-Christmas tasting:

Chassage-Montrachet les Caillerets 2007 Marc Colin: I like a lot this domain and I have already tasted several similar bottles.
This time, the bottle is not showing well, the finish is very short and I even thought due to oxidative notes that it was on downhill.
We decided to decant it and to drink champagne. The blanc des millénaires 2006 was as amazing as the previous bottles tasted and we had a lot of pleasure.
After certainly more than 2 hours of decanting, we decided to taste again the chassage and this pint the bottle was completely different.
The nose was expressive and the palate still showed flavors of the evidence of oak: butter, vanilla but well balanced with agrumes. The finish was much longer. Impressive what decanting can do to a some wines...

Studach Chardonnay barrique 2015 : First time that I tasted a chardonnay from Studach and I was excited to open this bottle. Love the nose with notes of tropical fruits. The palate is rich, almost opulent, but well balanced with a touch of acidity. A bit too young for my palate but I will retaste it in a couple of years.

Cayas réserve 2011 Jean René Germanier: Had this magnum from a long time but I decided it was the perfect day to open it. Even if I know what I was opening, I didn’t clearly recognize the syrah. However, it’s an elegant and well balanced wine. I would expect more complexity but may be a big too young to open it in large format.

Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay Santenots du Milieu 2005 : I am a big fan of this domain but I almost drank only its whites. Let’s see a red with some age.
A bit disappointed, as this bottle seems not to be ready to be drunk. The nose is not really expressive and the palate, which is still young, lacks elegance. In my opinion like a lot of 2005, which should be a great vintage, most bottles are not at the level as they should be…
