In the 1940s, design underwent a remarkable shift. During the war, platinum was restricted for military use, leading to the rise of yellow gold — warmer in tone, yet far more present and sculptural in its expression.

This change echoed the fashion of the era: structured silhouettes, defined waists, and a new, confident femininity. Jewelry followed suit, becoming bolder, more dimensional, and more expressive.

Floral motifs — like these cherry blossoms — were not merely decorative. After years of austerity, they symbolized renewal, hope, and quiet strength.

What makes these earrings particularly compelling is this duality:
they capture the fragility of a blossom, yet are rendered in solid 18k gold, giving them a striking, almost architectural presence.
The diamonds, set like tiny drops of morning dew, catch the light — preserving a fleeting moment of spring.

A piece shaped by its time, yet entirely timeless.

Today we had to say goodbye to our beloved Zelda. 🖤🕊️

She was my very first cat, a gift from my husband and from the moment she came into our lives, I was completely fascinated by her. I remember waking my husband in the middle of the night just so he could see how she turned around or how she carefully cleaned herself. (He didn’t always find it quite as exciting as I did.😅😓)

In the first weeks after she came to us, I would wake up again and again during the night just to check if she was still breathing.

She was my baby.

Zelda was an incredibly special soul. So talkative, so social, and full of personality. She loved long walks, bicycle rides, and little adventures. She didn’t just share our home — she shared our lives.

Anyone who has ever loved an animal will understand how painful it is to say goodbye. Our pets are not “just animals”. They are precious family members. And when they leave us, a small part of our heart goes with them.

The pain is still too close for me to find the right words. But as she peacefully fell asleep today, a poem I wrote when I was nine years old came to my mind:

Libre como el viento

Eres tan libre
como un caballo
que galopa con las crines
sueltos al viento.

Eres una mariposa
que muestra sus alas orgullosa.
Tú que eres la más hermosa diosa.

Enséñame
a volar como un pájaro
ligero por las montañas,
el cielo y el universo.

Run free, my sweet Zelda.

You were and always will be our number one.
Forever in our hearts.
A love like yours never truly leaves
it simply runs free, libre como el viento. 🕊️🐾

This exquisite lavalier necklace, crafted in platinum around 1910, beautifully captures the transition from the soft romanticism of the late Belle Époque to the emerging geometry of early Art Deco.

The lavalier style itself dates back to the 18th century and was named after the Duchess de La Vallière, a mistress of Louis XIV, who popularized the elongated pendant silhouette at the French court. By the early 20th century, this design returned to fashion — lighter, more refined, and perfectly suited to the new platinum techniques that allowed jewelers to create delicate, lace-like structures.

Platinum became the metal of choice during this period because of its strength and durability. It enabled jewelers to use minimal metal while maximizing light reflection from diamonds — a revolutionary development in jewelry history.

The combination of diamonds, emerald accents and softly shimmering pearls reflects the era’s fascination with nature, elegance, and feminine grace — while the vertical drop silhouette elongates the neckline in a way that still feels effortlessly modern today.

Over 100 years later, this piece remains a testament to craftsmanship and timeless design.
