I don't usually eat a ton of eggs, but in the summer, I go through loads of boiled, either for salads, grab and go snacks for the kids, or deviled eggs.
It's cooler today, so I decided to boil some. Came time to peel, and I was losing my mind. Peeling cooked eggs is very low on my list of things to do. For some reason, today's episode in Andrea Peels Eggs was not a good one. It dawned on me, two mangled eggs in, that I had forgotten to add the secret ingredient. The thing that makes the egg peeling Gods happy. The baking soda. I don't know what the magic is, but the job is about a million times easier with a tablespoon or so tossed into the baking soda. We're talking slipping out of the shells like a Hershey Kiss out of its wrapper.
Will I likely forget the secret ingredient in the future? Chances are yes. Will I curse every second of it, or pass the job onto a boiled egg eater? You betcha!
Do you have an egg peeling trick? Please share- apparently I can use ALL the help I can get!
