This sheet has it all, from soft and subtle to serious drama, thanks to a beautiful mix of ice white, deep red and a surprise splash of royal purple🤍❤️💜. Well Spring must officially be here, as construction season is well underway and our storefront is right in the thick of it!

This week we have an interesting sheet for you. Hand rolled by the folks at Bullseye, this sheet was supposed to be "Toffee Ring Mottle" but upon arrival in our shipment this particular sheet was very much not toffee coloured😅

None the less we love this colour, it is a beautiful soft yellow with white mottle and would be great for your next nature based stained glass piece.

A recent project we wanted to share this month is a set of kiln formed candle holders for St. Gianna Beretta Molla Church located in Winnipeg's south end. The church invited us out to discuss a couple of new projects for the beautiful space designed by Michael Boreskie, Krista Bobinski and Anjali Talwar of Vision in Form Architecture. The project we are sharing at this time is the creation of two kiln-formed candle holders for the Sanctuary and the Adoration Chapel of the Divine Mercy. Our glass vessels would replace the existing plastic candle holders. To ensure the new glass would fit perfectly we took careful measurements of the beautiful hand made, cast bronze apple tree branches by American artist John Collier. Next we cast 3/4 inch thick glass billets in a vibrant gradient of deep red. Once cast, the billets were then propped up in the kiln and placed on a fiber board aperture mold. With careful/slow heating and gravity the glass slumped through the aperture, creating a fluid bell shape. This kiln forming technique also stretches the colour out giving the glass a beautiful transition from orange to deep red. Lastly the glass shape was refined and polished to perfection. We recently installed these into their new home at St. Gianna's. We love how these new glass additions elevate an already beautiful space!

This piece features an elegant mix of hand rolled glass throughout. The flowers are a gorgeous mix of red and soft yellow, the foliage is a deep rich green and the stems are soft green, all set into a brass ring. This piece will bring spring vibes to any space!
