A recent project we wanted to share, is the creation of three sculptures based on the logo for the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at Health Sciences Center here in Winnipeg.

These sculptures were commissioned as a thank-you gift from the department to the graduating pediatric lead residents. We created the logo in fused glass using 15 different shades of colour, which we then fused to a clear glass base. This fused glass element was then set into a burled Manitoba maple base and lastly, a copper plate, which was hand-engraved with a personalized thank you note to each resident, was applied to the wood base.

This month, we are featuring a brand new design, "Harris' Sparrow".

The piece features a cheerful sparrow perched on a branch amongst the foliage of a tree. We used a mix of both hand rolled and machine rolled glass throughout this piece. This piece will bring a smile to your face and would make a perfect addition to any space.

This week we have an interesting sheet for you. Hand rolled by the folks at Bullseye, this sheet was supposed to be "Toffee Ring Mottle" but upon arrival in our shipment this particular sheet was very much not toffee coloured😅

None the less we love this colour, it is a beautiful soft yellow with white mottle and would be great for your next nature based stained glass piece.
