This handmade wallet from December 1944 has all the markings of a WW11 German prisoner of war who was put to work in a camp near Brandon Manitoba. Local farmers used prisoners for their Fall harvest. German prisoners were mostly Afrika Corps captured in Northern Africa. The wallet features a lovely lady named Pegg’s, posing in a one piece bathing suit , sitting on a classic 40’s suitcase with 5 travel stickers. Inside on the left are 2 German Iron Crosses and the date Dec 1944. On display at Vintage Glory.
Most prisoners stayed in Canada after the war and led productive lives.
