Let me tell you why these 2 hats are different.... ⤵️

Most people who have ordered a want bright colours that are high contrast and the message is clear, legible, and bold.

But these 2 hats are heading to Minneapolis. The ground zero for murder, kidnapping, and tyranny.

For the wearers of these 2 hats, their hat colours are an important decision to choose safety over boldness. To choose muted contrast over visibility. To choose a quiet protest over conflict.

Their convictions are the same. F**K ICE. But their safety takes priority when they walk amongst N***s and send a message in opposition.

This is why it's even more important for everyone else to use their voices, project the message to defund the DHS, and protect the most vulnerable who do not have the privilege to shut it out by turning a blind eye or closing social media.

This is their reality and our reality and we have to continue to fight back.

This toque has had lots of incredible attention from the best humans around so I did a thing - I quickly wrote up the chart & published it on Ravelry and Etsy.

‼️ Most importantly: 100% of pattern sales on Ravelry will be donated to non-profit organizations in Canada supporting immigrants and refugees.

‼️ And 80% of pattern sales on Etsy will be donated to be same (the 20% retained is just to cover the costs of selling on Etsy).

FOREVER. Not just temporarily or today, but as long as this pattern is selling.

I do not want to profit off of this and off of human injustice and murder. I want to raise awareness and divert funds to those doing the important work.

💀⚡ FLEA FAM!⚡💀

I am so tired because my heart is SO FULL. 🖤 (Sorry not sorry that this is long because it's important!)

Being alternative often feels like being outside of the "norm" and not widely accepted in the general world. The stigma of tattoos and piercings is lessening, but still pervasive, and the discriminatory opinions on us folks are strongly rooted in homophobia, transphobia, racism, and classism.

But a long time ago, I learned to take honour in being called "weird" and "nerdy". It takes so much bravery to show up and be uniquely yourself, decorating your body and expressing your gender, when everything in mainstream media tells you it's "wrong".

This is why I love the . It is so much more than just a "market" because it is truly a community from the second you walk through the doors and are welcomed, supported, and accepted with joy that you are there, among all the other folks who are being fully themselves. It is togetherness with people like you when the world feels lonely and that's a fu***ng incredible thing.

I can't thank everyone enough for making this space happen twice a year, from the organizers ( et. al), tireless volunteers, rad attendees, and vendor friends. It feels like coming home. 🖤

🖤🐦‍⬛ The best thing I ever knit and never posted 🐦‍⬛🖤

2.5 years ago, over several months, I knit "The Possibility of Crows" cardigan. This was a total labour of love, as I printed out the pattern chart 20 lines at a time, highlighted as I went, ripped back mistakes, knitted at the couch, on a plane to New York, in the dark, in a hotel.

I now wear it proudly as a piece of moving art.

Unfortunately, the pattern designer (Disyarning) has discontinued availability of their patterns, so I am incredibly grateful that I took the plunge back when I did and created this gorgeous piece.

As we begin October and this beautiful fall, it felt most appropriate to finally share it.

These fall colours are giving me LIFE. 🙌🏼 The cozy vibes make me want to drink a hot cup of tea or a PSL, under a blanket, while knitting and watching a horror movie while it rains. Please, may nature bless me with this occasion.
