Hi I’m Olivia Tavassoly, the founder of Woven Soul.co.🌿 My mission is to create wardrobes that honour our bodies by embracing fabrics like linen, wool, and silk while avoiding synthetic materials like polyester, nylon & acrylic.
As a Sustainable Stylist, I curate clothing made from natural fibres, focusing on timeless vintage treasures.✨ For me, the appeal of vintage fashion has always been about the craftsmanship and the stories behind each piece—a connection to a time when clothing was made with care and intention. Nothing ruins that magic like discovering a beautiful vintage piece is made from cheap polyester. While synthetic fabrics have their place in the fashion world, they have NO place in my wardrobe.🙅♀️
More troubling is the rise of plastic fabrics marketed as “recycled” and “eco-friendly.” 🌎 In reality, these materials manage industrial waste rather than prioritizing REAL sustainability or quality. This deceptive practice fuels my commitment to using fabrics that honour our bodies.
As a Natural Fibre Advocate, I’ve spent hours researching microplastics and their impact on our health. It’s heartbreaking to learn most babies are born with microplastics in their innocent little bodies.😢 Yet the long-term effects still remain unclear. This knowledge drives my mission to reduce my own plastic exposure and raise awareness of these hidden dangers.🚨
But my journey isn’t just about avoiding harm—it’s about embracing the healing properties of natural fabrics. Linen, for example, was once used in hospitals 🏥 for its antibacterial properties that helped patients heal. Wearing natural fibres isn’t just a choice; it’s a step toward living more consciously and sustainably.💚
A few months ago, I vowed to buy only clothing made from 100% natural materials. What started as a financial boundary grew into a passion for mindful shopping 🛍️ and a deeper connection to fabrics like linen, cotton, wool, and silk—materials that have stood the test of time.🧵
