Just one of many restoration jobs completed this week.

This 18K white gold and diamond engagement ring from over 50 years ago has been well loved and was in desperate need of being restored to its original beauty.

Despite the stone falling out years ago, this client held onto her ring in hopes of not having to travel to the city or have it sent away for repair.

Work completed included hand fabricating a new shank after pouring an ingot, creating four new prongs to fit a larger diamond, retipping the accented diamonds, reengraving the original detail and setting the stone.

Feel free to dig out your broken jewellery or family heirloom and pop by for a complementary estimate to have your piece restored.

A large portion of our custom work includes creating meaningful and sentimental jewellery. This white gold paw necklace is just one example of how you can honour your best friend.

Our client came to us knowing exactly what he wanted. He had a photo of a paw print his senior dog left in the frost on a walk. He wanted a white gold pendant with a simple print and raw edges.

I did a few renditions in wax and settled on hand carving a medallion from a hard wax block. I engraved the paw, added a wax edge then removed it before I cast and finished it.

This pooch is still living life up with his owner but as she ages he wanted to ensure he had a piece of her to live on forever.

Wedding season is ramping up in the studio as I’ve been making new engagement and wedding rings for the case.

This is the latest addition, a natural marquise diamond ring that is nestled along side our new wedding bands that were posted last week.

Time is of the essence if you’re interested in having your rings custom make this season. Just like your dress or flowers and other arrangements for your big day, we require as much lead up time as possible.

In the early hours of December 12th, 2023,
I woke up with the feeling that my space was ready.

I grabbed my phone and headed to Kijiji with a knowing that I’d find what I was looking for. I’ve always said the only thing that could top my studio at the time was a feature like a large window or a high ceiling.

I was already enrolled at NSCAD, and we were in the middle of packing and moving back to Andy’s home province. I was casually looking for a studio space close enough to Wolfville that I could use for homework, but also accessible to the public so that I could hold appointments and continue making jewellery.

It didn’t take long before I said to myself, there it is. A little shop with huge windows, a beautiful high ceiling, and just enough room for my tools, with gorgeous light through the windows.

I didn’t want to send an inquiry email with a timestamp of 3 a.m., so I scheduled it for first thing the next morning — Andy’s birthday.

The next day, my birthday, I got a response. I arranged for my sister-in-law and her husband to view the space in Windsor on my behalf. Andy informed me that Windsor was the cute town we stopped at the summer before to grab a coffee on our drive back home after the holidays. I vaguely remembered the town.

It was a little while after moving in that I met the owner, Rick. I didn’t know who he was when he poked his head in and asked, “How’s business?” I said, “Great, thanks!” and he replied, “Well then, I’ll have to raise your rent!” We laughed and introduced ourselves, and the rest is history.

It is because of Rick and his team at R&D Dunham Holdings that we’re here today. It’s because of his generosity when I got COVID during Andy’s chemo that we kept Andy safe. I couldn’t be more thankful to have met such a great group of people who turned Windsor into my home away from home, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this little space to do what I love.

There’s a candle in the window for you, Rick. Your legacy lives on here.

2026 is in full swing at the shop.

We’ve updated our hours and holidays for the year and our services page on our website so you can stay in the loop on our policies and procedures.

2025 was all about growth and pushing ourselves in the new space with we’ve done it with huge success!

This year we’re focusing on better scheduling, quicker turnaround times and stocking the cases with even more unique engagement and wedding rings.
