In class, you’ll learn:
✂️ Cutting & piecing techniques
🧵 Quilting & construction methods
🎩 How to assemble and shape your hat so it stands tall and sturdy
✨ Finishing tips for a polished, wearable result

By the end of class, you’ll head home with a magical quilted witch hat – no spells required! 💫

Ages 14+ welcome. Prior sewing machine experience is required (must know how to operate a sewing machine). No quilting experience needed. If you’re brand new to sewing, we recommend starting with Machine 101 first.

We're feeling witchy all year long (Summerween, anyone?), so it's the perfect time to make a summery quilted witch hat! During class you'll learn how to make a quilted statement hat inspired by cottagecore style, woodland wanderers, and Renaissance faire fashion. We’ll cover techniques for cutting, piecing, quilting, and assembling your hat so that it’s sturdy and stylish. You’ll also learn tips for shaping and finishing so your hat stands tall. We have all sorts of different fabrics at Stitch Happens. Scuba a really fun one to sew with. It holds its shape really well, so projects like bras or voluminous skirts or shoulder details hold up. It can be used for cosplay projects, lingerie, or even to give structure to a skater dress. Have you made a project with scuba yet?
