One year ago today we served our last customer at Paddletales. Thanks Lorne. I must say the timing was right for retirement. Between supply challenges and us just getting old and tired (lol) running Paddletales would not have been as much fun as it had been in the past. I do miss our customers, but we have managed to stay in touch with a number of them. There's not a day goes by when we don't think of how blessed we were to have known many of you. We will be forever thankful for the loyalty and friendships you gave us year after year.
What we don't miss is the tie. It's great fishing through the week when the ramps aren't so busy. The honey-do list doesn't seem to be getting any shorter, but I suspect Sandie is adding to the bottom whenever I knock one off the top. She's much faster at stroking off jobs on her list than I am too.
We're not travelers, rather preferring to spend time in our back yard, so we have invested some money there. If the boat's in the driveway, that's likely where you'll find us. Spur of the moment days trips have been a lot of fun too. Retirement has not been good for my midsection though. Need to work on that. Maybe start tomorrow, or the next day.
So, all in all, the past year has been great. We had a wonderful 23 years at Paddletales, but all things must end, and it was our time. I left the wrap on the boat so if you see me on the water, come on over and say g'day. If you're through Wi******er, don't be afraid to stop by for a hello.

Saturday July 10 at 3 pm Paddletales Tackle will lock their door for the last time.

It's been an unbelievable run and I never would have dreamt what was possible when we began. As I've said in earlier posts, I've made more friends, been to more places, and fished with many people that I never would have had it not been for Paddletales.
I'm sure on Saturday there will be a few (lot) tears as this has been our lives for a long time, but I must say I am looking forward to retirement. I have a beautiful boat and now will finally be able to use it much more than I have in the past. We have a grandson from Abbottsford coming in August for a week, followed by the rest of his family the following week, and we'll have time to spend with them. There's a ton of things to see and do and I must say we are looking forward to it.

Thanks from the bottom of our hearts one last time for the support, loyalty, and friendship over the years to the sales people, distributors, and, most importantly you, the customers. We will be forever greatful.

Paddletales is open Canada Day 10 to 3

Paddletales is taking it's last cast at the bass. Starting tomorrow, June 30, we will be offering our final discount. Purchases under $100.00 before tax will get a 25% discount. Purchases over $100.00 before tax will get a whopping 40%. That's right 40%.

Our spinning reel selection consists of 1 Shimano Stradic 4000 and 2 Daiwa Crossfires, I believe a 2500 and a 3000. Baitcasters we fare a little better, especially in left hand. Rod selection is pretty good as well. Plastics and terminal tackle we are in very good shape. June 30 we are going to stage 2 in the Covid restrictions which means we are now allowed 7 inside at a time. Masks and sanitizing upon entry are still required. If our door is locked during business hours we are at our max. Please be patient. As well, we will be open July 1, Canada day from 10 am to 3 pm.

There will be absolutely no layaways, strictly first come first served. This will be our final discount. We have had other stores express interest in purchasing our remaining stock.

Once again, Sandie and I would like to thank all our customers for their loyalty and friendship over the years. I hope to see many of you out on the water.
