It is with heavy hearts and disappointment that we announce the closure of the Eagle’s Nest Mini-Village Transitional Housing program.
On Tuesday, August 18, the Mayor and 3 councillors voted unanimously to oppose the SESS zoning applications submitted to resolve the non-compliance complications at our current location.
The Town of Whitecourt then gave us a 6-week Stop Order to vacate the premises by September 30. 6 weeks is obviously an inadequate time to find homes for our current 24 residents who have multiple challenges. We will be seeking help from our amazing community supporters.
Please encourage our residents and outreach clients when you interact with them. Some feel despair and need fresh hope.
Soaring Eagle is committed to supporting these vulnerable folks and will continue to provide supports to assist them through this difficult process to find new homes and face a new season in their lives.

The skill hill was a great place for our race! The Eastlink Park staff were amazing! Helping us with a couple trial runs, mowing a huge area, hauling our ducks and slide & Equipment up and down the hill, providing tools we forgot to bring…. And more!

It’s Here! Tomorrow is our Duck Derby fundraiser!!!!
We will race 1000 rubber Ducks, in 4 heats, down a giant slip ‘n slide at Eastlink Park ski hill. There’s lots of space to park and watch. Bring your lawn chairs.
Kid Zone play area/Information display/BBQ.
Fundraiser BQ starts at 11:30 – Ca$h or TAP.
Race starts at 12:45.
Come and watch your duck win!!! It is great fun!
