PS. The 616 Day Blind Bag will not be available this week. For whatever reason they split the allocation in two waves, and we only received *one* this week. That doesn't do us much good, does it? We should have the rest next week.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN # 300 CGC 9.6 signed by Todd McFarlane
Amazing Spider-Man #300, featuring the first full appearance of Venom, is one of the most sought-after Spider-Man books of all time. Created by the superstar team of writer David Michelinie and of course artist Todd McFarlane, this issue begins the story arc of the alien symbiote and what it can do when it's not attached to Peter Parker. Featuring the often imitated classic cover with the added bonus of McFarlane's signature. There's no character like Venom, and there's no artist like Todd McFarlane.

MARVEL SPOTLIGHT # 5 CGC. 6.5
Here it is: the first appearance of Ghost Rider and his human counterpart, Johnny Blaze, who has one of the best names in all of comicdom. Written by Gary Friedrich with a cover and interior art by personal favourite, Mike Ploog. This August 1972 comic is one of the most important key issues from the Bronze Age of comics. Ghost Rider's look shocked people at the time and changed the aesthetic of many Marvel books.

NYX # 3 CGC 9.8
One of the most surprising comics of the early 2000s. When people saw the last page of this book featuring a young girl with claws just like Wolverine's, everybody went crazy and had to have it. When it turned out this young girl was X-23 Laura Kinney, Logan's actual clone/daughter, the demand for this issue went through the roof. The low print run and huge desire for all things Wolverine make this CGC 9.8 copy a must-have.

X-MEN # 50 CGC 9.4
Drawn by game-changer Jim Steranko and written by Arnold Drake, this X-Men book contains the first cover appearance of Lorna Dane, who is revealed here as the daughter of Magneto, and later becomes Polaris. One of the more interesting aspects of this book is that it features the first use of the iconic X-Men logo designed by Steranko, which is still used today.

A combination of rarity and gorgeous art makes this book one of the most sought-after modern-day comics out there. Gabrielle Dell’Otto’s 1:100 cover to the first part of the Spider-Island storyline has caused frenzy with collectors. A severe drop in orders from the previous month makes this book extremely difficult to find. And with a CGC 9.6 grading, this is the one for you.

BATMAN # 66 CGC 6.0

The Golden Age book that has become an internet meme classic. When the Joker meses up a robbery, the Gotham paper mock his “massive boner”. Bill Finger and Lew Sayre Schwatrz bring you the story, with a memorable Dick Sprang totem pole cover.

INCREDIBLE HULK # 181 raw G+

DETECTIVE COMICS # 267 CGC 7.5

Writer Bill Finger and penciller Sheldon Moldoff bring you the first appearance and origin of Bat-Mite. The little imp isn’t everyone’s favourite, but for those of you who are a fan, it’s hard to let this one pass on by. From May 1959 and graded at CGC 7.5, this one may “disappear” quickly.

INCREDIBLE HULK # 1 CGC 7.5

The first six issues of the Incredible Hulk are hard to find, but look what we have here. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were at their creative peaks in the early 1960s, and this book and character exemplify their brilliance. Due to a printing press problem, Lee changed the original gray-skinned Hulk to green for the second issue, making this the only early appearance of the Hulk with gray skin. One of the first Marvel characters to debut in his own comic, the Hulk was cancelled six issues into his run, which is why the first six books are so scarce. And how about that CGC grade of 7.5? A fantastic book in amazing condition.

A great book all-around. This medical drama comic marked the beginning of Marvel comics becoming even more serious and dealing with real-world problems. All that and graded at CGC 9.8.

BATMAN #6 CGC 4.0 - US$2,500

An important book in DC history: as Batman's popularity started rising, DC changed the release schedule of their number one hero to bi-monthly with this issue, dated June 1941. Four different stories featuring the Dynamic Duo, by Bill Finger, with art by Bob Kane, Jerry Robinson, and George Roussos.

BATMAN #8 CGC 4.5 - US$3,000

The famous infinity cover. Batman and Robin reading a copy of Batman #8, with a copy of Batman #8 on the cover, which has a copy of Batman #8 on the cover, etc, etc. This often-duplicated book also contains a Joker story.
