• one step at a time •

say hello to my first big wall hanging!

the creation of this piece was so special to me. I turned many "mistakes", moments of not knowing where to tie the next knot, and finally finding that feeling of completion, into a sort of trust in the process, as the bigger picture slowly came together.

I had a rough outline of the backdrop and the shape I wanted to achieve, but everything other move was in fact made one step at a time. I would finish adding one layer, step back from my work for a little while, then see how I wanted to make it all flow together next, so that it had a feeling of unity.

I'll be creating a few "process" posts, so I'll talk about how this piece came to be more in depth there.

let me know what you think of the piece & if you have any name suggestions! my mom said it reminded her of an eagle in flight and I really liked that.

• g r a t i t u d e •

I wish to create a space on my feed where you and I can pause, take a moment, a breath, become present, and find some gratitude throughout our day together.

when I slow down and remind myself of all that I am blessed with, rather than always focusing on where I would like to be, my mind gets a bit lighter and my day gets far more beautiful.

today, I am grateful for my ability to create. for the dexterity of my hands and fingers and how they can tie knots for hours a day to turn simple cotton rope into beautiful fiber art.

what are you grateful for today?

I am going to begin knotting my first big wall hanging this coming week and I am so excited to dive into that creative process and get lost in the flow of it! It's one of those pieces that have been on my to-do list for nearly a year now. When you're new to a craft, large pieces as such can feel overwhelming, but I'm now ready to take that next step and expand my horizons💫☀️

In the mean time, here is the one and only wall hanging I've made and sold this past summer at my market booth. I think I'll keep this piece as a one-of-kind and leave open potential to see what I can create next.

Guess what our best-seller was this past market season?

The wristlet! And rightfully so.

I'm not going to lie, I began selling these before I began using one myself. But one day, I made one that I was going to keep and I haven't stopped using it since! It frees up my hands and I never have to dig in my bag for my keys (we all know the headache).

It's one of those pieces that are so simple yet so functional, and become a very handy part of your daily routine.

• small steps towards big dreams •

this marks our first summer of markets!

and where better to begin than
St. Jacobs Farmers' Market.

starting Saturday, June 26th, you'll find Di Vita's booth on the upper floor of the Market building (the same building with those dangerous apple fritters...) and we will be running until Tuesday, August 31st.

our summers hours are:
Tuesday 8-3
Thursday 7-3:30
Saturday 7-3:30

im so looking forward to bringing
Di Vita beyond these screens & getting to see some real life lovely faces!
