Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, I've been making jewelry since high school. I learned the hard way, practice, screwup, practice, make better, practice, make perfect. When I first started making jewelry all my girlfriends, their moms, and stores wanted my pieces. I did this for a while and then lost my passion for it around the time I went to university. Years later, I moved to Victoria, BC. a

nd I rekindled my love for making goods. I started off small and sold just jewelry to friends and friends of friends. Then a few stores picked up my line and have been selling my jewelry for a couple years. I spent some time in Arizona during the gem show a couple years ago and learned a lot about the metaphysics and healing powers of crystals and gem stones which then became the main focus and inspiration of my current jewelry line. All the stones and crystals you see in my jewelry are hand picked by me with the best of intentions to heal, promote wellness, happiness, and stability. In the last few years I have expanded my line to include leather goods for both men and women as well as jewelry. The Island is a wealth of inspiration. From the ocean and beaches to the vintage motorcycles that I help build on the weekends, Victoria, BC became my muse. I take great pride in my pieces. Like with my jewelry, all my leather goods are hand made. I taught myself everything and take great pride in carrying on the tradition of hand crafted leathering. I do not use any machines or presses. Every hole is hand punched, every stitch, hand stitched. I polish and dye the leather myself. I make pieces that will last and look even better with age. Pieces that you can kick the crap out of if you want and the only thing that happens is that it looks even better than when you bought it. I am a one (wo)man band. I work really hard and believe that quality should never be comprimised. Everything I sell is made with integrity and the best possible supplies I can get my leather stained and calloused hands on. I only make goods that I would want myself which in all honesty, makes it hard for me to sell sometimes! Thank you so much for swinging by! xo,

I like to think I’m really good at managing my emotions. I knew today wasn’t going to be easy, but it has surprised me how real this all is and how deeply sad I am but also how incredibly grateful I am for ever having this space. Today I took down all the window decals and handed my keys in. Today is the true beginning of the next chapter and my heart hurts but I’m also insanely excited!! I feel good in my new studio and can’t wait to show you all the tricks I’ve got up my sleeve!

I’m going to take a few days off to process everything (with the help of some wine and my partner in crime) because it turns out I haven’t really done that yet. Thank you to my alley cats .assembly ! Thank you to my downtown neighbours and anyone else I forgot! Thank you to everyone who came to the pop ups with and many more! And to everyone who came down to the anniversary parties, bday parties and just cuz parties! THANK YOU EVERYONE! love you all. I hope you’re all are staying safe and healthy!! Oh, and a sorry in advance for any ridiculous stories I post over the next few days.

Yo. It’s me.

I’ve been sitting on this for a few weeks and I think it’s time to tell you:

For almost 5 and 1/2 years I have held up at 104 Fan Tan Alley. My tiny shop has been a hub for us all. It’s been a way to meet you and a place for you to come and shop, escape the rain or work and hang out. I have loved it more than I thought I could ever love something and relish every minute I’ve spent there. None of which would have been possible without all of YOU! Fan Tan Alley has become my second home which is why this decision was so fu***ng hard. It breaks my heart to let it go but I know this is the right thing to do.

A month ago I was informed that a business would be moving down into the courtyard next to my shop. This business goes against my core believes and values. I was then faced with the decision of what I could do to protect Jovee while keep my morals and ethics in tact. After some very deep soul searching (full of sadness and anger but with hope and even excitement), and driving my loved ones bananas, I decided I was going to close the shop and start looking for a new space. Timing is everything though, and in light of our current World crisis I realized the best thing to do right now is to move the studio into my home. That way I can keep working, keep taking orders and keep Jovee alive during these uncertain times.

Thank you for being a part of this huge chapter in my life!! If you need anything, holler atta girl, shop my instagram because I’m still doing local deliveries and shipping World-wide. Once I’m all moved in I’ll be working on re-doing my website! I hope you stick with me and I’ll do my best to make it worth your while! Xo
