n in 2020 when St. Aidan's United and Cadboro Bay United Churches amalgamated. Our core values are hospitality and inclusivity and Broad View Thrift Store exemplifies these values. Through the thrift store we are able to: Provide clean, appropriate clothing and useable items to our community and to community groups throughout the city; Help clothing and household items find a second life; Foster a sense of community through the loyalty of our customers, our caring staff, and the genuine friendship and support that radiates throughout the Thrift Store. A couple of weeks ago, we commemorated Volunteer Appreciation Week 2026, with a theme of igniting volunteerism, and I believe we successfully achieved this within our community. The decorations, the people, and the cake all contributed to the celebration. We were also honored to welcome special speakers from an organization we support theough donations in-kind, Lions Pride Recovery Center. Meg and Jimmy joined us to share their story of how they got started and how our organization assists them. It was a great way to celebrate and ignite volunteers.

We appreciate your generosity, but our shop's capacity constraints prevent us from accepting large donations, including furniture. Any large items left outside will result in disposal costs for us. Please explore alternative organizations that can accommodate large item donations. Unfortunately, we have received several such items this week. These items are free outside our shop at the moment. We are open today until 5 PM

Family Dinner Night is back! 🍝

Join other families with children at the BVU Commons for an evening of games, activities, songs, and stories. Dinner is provided, with kid-friendly options and a variety of dietary needs accommodated.
