Tastes Local is a Community Marketplace for all things local. They bring Island-made goods and Island culture to one place so everyone can enjoy a taste of local! The initiative is an Island-based social enterprise focused on supporting the diverse community of creators, growers and producers who are located in the Vancouver Island region. You can pick up your Tastes Local products at the micro retail centre called Tastes Local+, conveniently located at The Dock+ facility.

And based of 5104 River Road , Port Alberni, who are inspired to bring a piece of Australian coffee culture to Canada. Are you a chocoholic? Cave to your cravings with sweet chocolatey treats from Rock Coast in .

This local gourmet chocolatier and confectioner on Vancouver Island promises high-quality goods made in small batches with all-natural ingredients. They have products for every occasion!

Amber, the owner of RockCoast Confections, is a vet tech by trade and followed her passion for cooking and creating. Now, she has her own business and continues to volunteer at animal shelters and clinics.
She is deeply immersed in the community and gives back at every opportunity.

The sense of community on the Island has been “amazing, especially over the last year. I feel so fortunate to have a confectionary shop and be on the Island,” Amber says. “I don’t know of any other place where the community supports each other this much. I am so grateful for the people here who travel to the shop and spread the word and support local. There is so much of that here. It’s pretty unbelievable!”
