Puzzle quilt in comments: The Ocean Is A Woman by Angela Minaudo won First Place - Small Wall Quilts - 1st Entry in an AQS Paducah Quilt Contest at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2026.

Artist Statement: "The ocean is Woman! A source of life, it saw life emerge 3.5 billion years ago and continues to nourish the Earth. I have discovered many initiatives by female scientists to protect marine biodiversity. The sea and the woman symbolize a powerful force, but their voices are still not heard enough. “If you want to save the ocean, make sure women are part of the solution”. (cit)

Puzzle Quilt (link in the comments). Cathedral Trees by Angie Tustison won First Place - Wall Quilts - Quilter's Choice at AQS QuiltWeek - Paducah 2026. I

n addition to its win at Paducah, Angie's quilt also took home First Place - Naturescape earlier in the year at Road to California 2026. About her work and its inspiration, Angie says, "This quilt is based on a photo I took of my husband and our dogs in the redwoods near our home in Northern California.

Taking photos for an art quilt was a great excuse to get out and go for a walk in a beautiful place. The redwoods have always been home for me, and I enjoyed working with such a familiar and comforting landscape.

I especially enjoyed creating the threadwork details with machine embroidery on water-soluble stabilizer."
