Alpine Book Warehouse A non profit used book store operated by volunteers of the Vernon Book Volunteers Society, raising funds for local charities.

Today we presented the last cheque of our Spring/Summer 2026 program to the Vernon and District Immigration and Community Services Society.

It has been our pleasure to make a little difference to the efforts to all of our recipients as they support those less fortunate in our community.

It is disheartening when our volunteers come across something like we did today. Two containers of books left on our doorstep which not only reflected a disregard of our policy of no drop offs outside of open hours but also a disregardq of the health of the volunteers. These books were covered in dirt, cobwebs, mouse droppings and some mold. We are now left the task of dealing with these books.

We rely on books being in good condition for resale so that we can continue with our goal of raising funds which support local charities. The disrespect demonstrated here is saddening. We are not a recycling centre.
