We're excited to be welcoming local mystery author Sam Wiebe to our Broadway store for the book launch of GUNS ACROSS THE RIVER! He'll be at our Broadway store on June 10 at 7 pm, in conversation with Harrison Mooney, author of INVISIBLE BOY.

Guns Across the River is the latest installment in his hit Wakeland series, this time seeing his PI save a distraught woman who was either attempting su***de or escaping from someone. Helping her drags Wakeland into the hills of the Fraser Valley, a construction scandal, and a gun-running ring.

Doors at 6:30 pm, event starts at 7:00 pm; free to attend and all are welcome.

The British Columbia and Yukon Book Prizes Soiree at Broadway last night was possibly our best yet! Such a great turnout to celebrate this year's slate of prize nominees (and they definitely deserve celebration). Thank you to all the authors, editors, judges, and publishing people who joined us, thank you to all the book lovers who made up the rest of the crowds, and thank you to the BC & Yukon Book Prizes team for making the evening as fabulous as always! Join us at our Main St store on May 26th for the Vancouver launch of Walrus: The Remarkable Life of Eco-Warrior David Garrick by Catherine Marie Gilbert.

A fascinating look at the largely unrecognized work of David Garrick, whose intense and unflagging dedication to protecting the earth and its creatures is an inspiration for those who wish to make today's world a better place.

Garrick comes alive from Gilbert's use of his deeply insightful and humorous writing, unpublished letters, 150 journals and her extensive interviews with him. The book is illustrated with archival images and Garrick's own drawings. Walrus lived an ethical and principled life that offers hope and inspiration in troubled times.
