These lovely ladies are life long nurses.
My sister was on the front lines during the Covid crisis in NYC.
She worked in a burn unit when 9/11 hit NYC.
She began her career working in a lymphoma unit, where most of her patients did not leave.
My mom spent much of her career when I was young working in the ICU ward. Then she came home to deal with 5 kids who had zero understanding of what she did or the things she saw.
It is chaotic, intense, physically demanding work.
They are a couple of badass gals that have navigated high levels of stress, experienced more death and tragedy than most can imagine, helped grieving family members with skill, grace and strength.
