In 1912 and in 1915, Teit did fieldwork among the Tahltan people and met more than seventy Tahltan people (about one-third of the population at that time) in his work. With the elders he assembled 196 song recordings, 167 photographs and 130 mythological tales. The three volumes of Talthan Tales as well as a volume of Kaska tales

were published in the obscure Journal of American Folklore and are very fragile and difficult to find in good condition today.

Comparative vocabularies of the Indian tribes of British Columbia, with a colour map illustrating distribution Tolmie, William Fraser; Dawson, George ...
Publisher: Montreal: Dawson Brothers 1884. 129 pages. The spectacular map in dashing colour is the first to accurately note linguist/cultural boundaries in the BC and is of intense interest for Rights and Title and Specific Claims. The book has first word lists of many First Nations languages and for Haida, Cumshewa dialect (the only record of that dialect). Tsimshian has Kitunto, Kithatla dialect word lists. For Tinne, they do not use the word Carrier, they note Takulli and Teheili and Nakoontloon and Tshilkotin word lists. Bilhoola and Kootenuha lists included. St'atlium is called Selish and there is a Lillooet tribe word lists. With a note that the Selish have "marked dialectic varieties, but are "mutually intelligible" and that "most of the country east of the Fraser river is divided between the Shewhapmuh and the Okanagan". So it seems the authors thought that the "Lillooet tribe words" would suffice also for Okanagan and Secwepemc [as "mutually intelligible" with Lillooet]. For Kwakiool, Haishilla, Hailtzuk, Kwiha and Likwiltoh dialects. For Coast Salish, many dialects and word lists including for Kwantlin (the only record we have of that dialect). For Nuuchanulth or "aht" just one dialect word list, from Kaiookwaht from Clayoquot (from Sproat). I have made a readable and clean reprint of of this great book and map. Nobody else has ever reprinted it or digtized it. UNBC for example has one original and fragile copy.
