Zero waste has become trendy, and although it's great that awareness is spreading, it's also taken on a certain look. It looks great in pictures, but this also pushes consumerism and makes it seem unattainable and expensive to so many people beginning this journey. ⁠
⁠
You don't have to break the bank. It doesn't have to immediately be perfect and pretty. You don't have to immediately purge your house of all packaging and plastic and buy all new items. In fact, you really shouldn't. This just sends all these things to the landfill faster then they would have been.⁠
⁠
Give the things you already have as long a life as possible. It might not be Instagram worthy but it won't be as drastic and you'll be less likely to get overwhelmed.⁠

Get in the habit of saying no to them by using a cotton one instead! Just pop them in your reusable shopping bags so you never forget them. When you get home, store your veggies in jars of water or sealed containers so they stay fresh for a long time!⁠
