Todayโs vintage skateboard ad brings you another one of those fine SIMS ads we loved, this time featuring the legendary Lonnie Toft Snub model. Shorter nose, big platform, heavy attitude โ exactly the kind of setup that helped define the wide-open experimental era of late-70s skateboarding. ๐น๐ฅ
Lonnie Toft was one of those riders who made skateboarding look dangerous, powerful, and completely alive, and his SIMS Snub model captured that same energy in wood, urethane, and pure skate history. This was before everything got standardized, when board shapes were still evolving fast and companies like SIMS were pushing the limits with wider platforms, bold designs, and ads that made every kid want to ride something wild. ๐ฅ๐
Another beautiful blast from the CalStreets archive โ when skate ads had soul, riders had signature shapes, and the future of skateboarding was still being carved one board at a time.
