Dear Valued Customers
We are sad to see and hear about the people in the US and Canada that fell ill with respiratory lung infections (lipid pneumonitis) in the recent few weeks. Our hearts and prayers go out to each and everyone of the people affected and their families.
The media has decided to link the entire va**ng industry including eci******es and liquids containing ni****ne, while the real root of the issue is THC/Cannabis extract cartridges and what the black market is doing to them to increase profits with no regard to human safety.
2003 - 2019, 16 years of a clean record for electronic ci******es. We know its not the devices making people fall ill as of recent, because nothing has really changed in the mechanics of the devices that have been helping people make in our opinion and many others a switch to a healthier alternative. Dont get me wrong, electronic ci******es are not healthy, but they are a drastic step in the right direction compared to to***co ci******es. Its all about harm reduction and the fact that eci******es contain far less toxic carcinogens (approx 9 to 450 fold). To***co ci******es produce approx 7000 chemicals of which 70 are considered chemicals that cause cancer.
Enter 2019 with the North American population all about consuming ma*****na in its various forms. Street level black market dealers start getting in the game and to increase profits they use cutting agents to increase their supply. The problem was that many cutting agents used made the liquid in the cartridge thin and the appearance gave the consumer a feel that the product was not authentic and didnt have a thick oil appearance. To combat this, black market sellers began using a cutting agent called Vitamin E Acetate which had a dark color and was thick in consistency. It was cheap, had the look of oil and was thick so consumers thought they were getting the real thing.
In the past, there have been a handful of case studies assessing the link between vitamin E oil inhalation and lipid pneumonitis. According to NBC, in 2000 a case report in the Canadian Respiratory Journal found a 30 year old woman had devloped lipid pneumonitis as a result of using homemade cannabis oil brewed with petroleum jelly and vitamin E oil.
There is no real reason to use Vitamin E Acetate for performance. One can easily use Vegetable Glycerin or Propylene Glycol which are generally recognized as being safe. The only reason they use this
is because of the low cost and the darker color it has compared to VG and PG. Manufacturers dont need to do anything more to the liquid such as add colorings which would raise costs. This comes down to pure money greed and laziness in our opinion with no regard to human safety.
Please rest assured that all liquid supplied by us has and never will have Vitamin E Acetate. Our ingredients are simple and include USP Vegetable Glycerin, USP Propylene Glycol, Natural and Artificial flavours and ni****ne (or no ni****ne if desired). This has never changed since the beginning and never will going forward.
We would like to say thank you to all the people who have made the transition to a healthier alternative and supported us along the way, we are proud of you for making the switch. We are about harm reduction for existing to***co smokers and we we do not encourage non-smokers or youth under 19 to use va**ng products.
With that being said, we hope the recent events have not forced you back to to***co ci******es and we hope through reduction of ni****ne, you can kick the habit altogether. We will be posting some informative articles in the next few days, so be sure to check them out and also please share this with anyone you love and care about who is currently va**ng or is thinking about making the transition from to***co smoking to va**ng.
Regards,
