STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!

Look who's baaaaaack - squeeeeeeee!!

Let's nerd out over the most spectacular resident in my food garden 🐛together!

This is how pollinator habitats work. This is why I garden with intention.

This is how you and I - one plant at a time - can change the world.

What started as a fun reason to buy a gold BINGO! ball spinning wheel + bring people together over my obsession with plants has grown into THIS magnificent community!

On Saturday night, 60 of you Plant Nerds took over Slabtown Cider's patio to play Plant BINGO!, sing, cheer for winners (and some boos, you jerks), eat, drink + listen to my weird facts about perimenopause, plants + the Golden Girls.

I haven't laughed that hard in a long time - what an incredible night!

This crew came from as far away as Orillia (through a hail storm!), Lindsay, Toronto, Barrie + Newcastle - last month a couple drove from OTTAWA!

Thanks to each of you for supporting the shop, either as fresh meat players, or my regular peeps that return each month.

(I'm looking at your crews Peter + Shayna + Lauren + Madison + Mel!)

I love I can take my clothes off in such a safe space (FFS remind me to bring a fan next month!!!).

Our Plant BINGO! is back at Slabtown on Saturday September 12, then returns to our storefront for October + November.

Tickets SELL OUT QUICK - grab em now! Available on our website or in the shop.

Today's garden tutorial highlights one of my absolute favourite pollinator companion + edible plants - BORAGE!

See how I harvest this magnificent plant + learn what we do with it.

Shout out to my friends Plenty Blessings Urban Homestead for sharing their delicious borage + nasturtium tea idea!

I'm on vacation for the first time since last August, relaxing while listening to the rain, reading, sipping tea + finally properly enjoying some of our incredible garden foods on a personal-size charcuterie board - let's take a look:

* Slabtown Cider Co. Cherry Cranberry Herb Jelly + Pepper Garlic Scape Jelly with Laughing Cow + Whipped Chive cream cheese + Official Schär US & CA Page crackers

* Pickled Garlic Scapes + German sausage

* Nectar Honey + blueberries + salted cashews

Made fresh with local local local food!

Seriously the best time of year.

Plant of the week! Gasteria Pillansii aka Cattle Tongue or Lawyer’s Tongue!
This plant has quickly become a shop favourite (or at least for Shae)! Adaptable to different light conditions, and infrequent watering make this a super easy to care for plant! Plus, it’s pet safe!
Gasteria Pillansii is native to South Africa, and grows relatively quickly, up to 8 inches per year, plus additional “tongues” will keep popping up from the soil.

This plant has been popular in our potting bar lately- in Shae’s golden t-Rex, and some custom made pots by Carly’s hubby, Eric, aka Ux 3D Prints

Let us know in the comments if you’ve heard Shae rave about this plant lately? She seriously can’t stop
