By 1971, Charlie and Betty decided to start their own business - a meat store. They purchased a small building at 383 Broadview Avenue which was the beginning of "CHARLIES MEATS". Over the next decade the Chinese population grew substantially, so did the business of CHARLIES MEATS. By the late 80's the building at Broadview was bursting at the seams, we then purchased a piece of land in Scarboroug

h and custom built a new processing plant and moved in 1991. Approximately ten years later we outgrew this new plant, we then acquired a 2nd building which happened to be adjacent to our existing one. In 2002 CHARLIES MEATS made an agreement with NoFrills to setup and operate our 1st butcher counter inside of NoFrills located at 681 Silverstar Blvd. Our objective was to serve the Chinese Community in a way that a Western Grocery Store could not. As it turned out, we were more than successful, as of 2011 we have 16 of these independent butcher counters setup in various locations throughout the GTA. In the 45 years of "CHARLIES MEATS" we have grown from a 2-man operation on Broadview Avenue to more than 250 employees. We have been wholesale fresh quality meat products to restaurants and supermarkets across Ontario Area. Also, we providing our fresh products in multiple selected No frills retail counters across the Greater Toronto Area!
