Thanks to my parents and extended family, my childhood gave me an indispensable appreciation for adventure, exploring different places and experiences, as well as an appreciation for the amazing characters each journey gives you the privilege of meeting - whether in person, online or through the pages of a book. It's because of my own ‘small world adventure’ that I’ve become inspired to bring the joy of reading, learning and storytelling to children everywhere by being a Barefoot Ambassador! I believe all children should feel their journey is important and that they deserve to learn, grow and experience love and joy – whether they are my nieces and nephews, the children in my own community or the children I work with locally and internationally. The GTA community is amazing. Thank you to the two separate people in different areas of the city, for saving these animals by calling TWC and keeping them safe until I picked them up! I was glad I could be part of their rescue transfer today! 🤗
If you see an injured or sick wild animal in please call the TWC hotline...I may be even the one who shows up! 👍😉

LOVE this beautiful Boi right here!!! 😍🐾➡️ ❤️ He is a testament to just how wonderful can be as family companions, no matter the breed (or breed mix), their history or where they came from. Not all rescued doggos adapt so easily or recover from their trauma (take Lucas for example), and some need special homes to give them the love and care the require. We never hold that against them, and they're no less precious to us or worthy of Furever homes - in fact there are those of us who LIVE TO LOVE those 'special' dogs. But every so often I meet an adopted doggo who is so content in their new families, yet able to socialize with hoomans and dogs alike, receive/give affection AND acclimatize to a busy, noisy, chaotic environment. Regardless, it's wonderful to see them thrive and shine...this smile says it all!😊

Small World Adventures with Barefoot Books was happy to be part of the recent event 'Brighten Our Future' at Lula Lounge this past Sunday! Five dollars from every Barefoot Book purchase was donated to GOEC (Gerladina Orphanage & Education Centre) in Bukoba Tanzania, an organization working to ensure orphaned and vulnerable children can attend school! Now that's a cause worth 'Stepping Inside a Story' for! :)

Small World Adventures is pleased to be part of this upcoming event and will be donating a Barefoot Books gift pack to their silent auction! The Gerladina Orphanage & Education Centre is a grassroots organization helping orphaned and vulnerable children in Bukoba, Tanzania. Come out and enjoy a fun evening of fantastic music, prizes, silent auction and more, while helping to brighten the future for these kids!

Small World Adventures with Barefoot Books was at this Sunday's event organized through SWAP Society: SWAP 'N Shop Fundraiser for the Gerladina Orphanage & Education Centre. Proceeds from Barefoot Book sales went toward supporting orphaned & vulnerable children in Bukoba, Tanzania - and brightening their future!
