Got some serious re-amping to do today for an upcoming project. The JCM900 doesn't get as much love as it's predecessor the JCM800; Marshall added clipping diodes to the B channel which is essentially like having a distortion pedal built into the amplifier circuit and is something that is quite common these days in modern high gain amps. There's a fairly simple mod that can be done to remove these diodes, or you can just throw a clean boost into the effects loop and crank the gain on channel A which will get you fairly close to 800 territory. The Mesa Stiletto is also the black sheep of the Mesa lineup and is Mesa's take on a Marshall and the two amps compliment each other quite nicely. An eq pedal in the effects loop can really help tame some of the high end which this amp has tonnes of.
