Sugar Beat Music for Children Interactive Group Music Classes for Children 4 to 14 years old.

Our Orff group classes for school aged children, helps children explore musical ideas like pitch, dynamics, tempo and rhythm. These classes give children a solid foundation in music by engaging their minds and imaginations in a playful, participatory way. They also provide an excellent preparation for formal music lessons in the future, or just a great way to develop your child’s life-long love of music.

For all my wonderful students who’ve missed in-person classes for the past year-and-a-half, and new families who want more music in their lives, we’re planning a tentative return for a Fall Session starting in October!

A few things are changing:
We’ll use the big studio space to spread out into designated marked circles. But no worries, we can still interact musically with our instruments!
Classes will be smaller, with 4-6 students in a group.
We’ll be masked according to TPH guidelines.

We’ll be able to do almost all of our usual activities, and have a great time!
Classes are planned for Saturdays at Windermere United Church. I hope to form age-specific classes at 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, and possibly 1:15.

Piano Orff classes are back for fall 2019! I'm looking for little musicians to join our 4-7 year old class on Saturdays at 1:00-2:00 at the Windermere United Church.

If you've never done Orff classes before, check out the videos on my website (http://sugarbeat.ca). Your children will learn to sing, create, and perform on a large variety of pitched and non-pitched percussive instruments (xylophones, drums, etc.), and they will learn to play the recorder! And for all first timers, quote "whatsorff" when you register for a 10% discount. No music experience necessary, but this is a great complement to anyone looking to get into musical theatre or supplement formal instrument lessons.

Piano Orff classes are back this September!

Children ages 4 to 13 learn foundational musical concepts in a fun, welcoming environment. It's all of the music learning with none of the stress!

We currently offer classes on Saturday at 12:15 (for older and more experienced children) and 1:15 (for 4-6 year olds), both at Windermere United Church. Depending on the numbers and ages, a later class may be added.

I am so excited to be returning to my Orff Classes this year! With the beginner class, we will be learning how to play drums, xylophones, a variety of pitched and non-pitched world percussion instruments, and we will be formally introduced to the wonderful world of recorder! Moving, singing and storytelling will still remain an integral part of the program, and let's not forget, tinkering on the piano keys. Classes will be held at the Windermere United Church, Saturday afternoons at 12:15. There are still a few spots available for enthusiastic 4 and 5 year olds!!

It's been a long while since my last post...sorry about that! The winter classes have been a blast so far. Many of our 1 year olds have turned 2, and have remained in the 11:00 class this term. The result is a very full and vibrant 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 year old group, who love to sing and dance!! With such great participation and positivity, I feel so blessed to teach this class, as well as my precious 3 yr olds at 10:15, every Saturday morning!

Classes have officially begun! We still have some room in all Saturday morning classes and Thursday morning baby classes, 4 months to a year. Orff classes on Saturday afternoons are full.

Classes begin in just 1 week! There are still spaces available in all classes except Orff Level III at 2:00. Bring in those last minute registrations. I am especially hoping for more 1 year olds, and under 1's for Thursday's class!
